Final post on this - definitely the CCT. k and n filter removed as it was Throwing the fuelling out massively . Standard filtering CCT tensioned slightly , road tested and super smooth. Honda will be followed up to try and educate them as this has been knackered from buying the bike. The oil changes have been masking the car and it's operation. Oil watery and thin makes tension drop off and chain vibrate. New oil thick and lots of pressure takes tension up and vibe disappears, simples get a manual one now. Thanks fir all the help

Glad you got it sorted mate and might I'll look into getting mine changed. Can you tell me where they are and what's involved to replace it?

    Cheers

    Piece of ...........

Take off clutch cover access plate do you can set engine to TDC.

Tank cover off 4 screws . Tank out (easier) four screws , two electrical connectors and fuel line. Push green bits together and pull fuel line. Do not damage. Remove tank it won't leak.

Looking from rear of bike can chain tensioner is right hand side near clutch cable routing. Do not remove until you have manual ape cct. To remove old one. Undo centre nut think 8 mm. That will release the pressure, what there is ;-) then undo both of the bolts 8mm and remove.

Do not turn engine without tensioner fitted it may jump a tooth and you'll be in a world of pain.!!!

Fit ape manual and tighten bolts . Include the metal gasket you removed from old cct. Leave main bolt slack so you can wind it in and feel the tension picking up. Tighten and lock off. 16mm. Read the leaflet with it.

If engine whines when tensioned it's too tight. If it rolls off power very quickly it's too tight. If it feels snatchy then it's too tight. Loosen slightly and run again. It's done by ear and vibration levels really. Have a read up on it online.

How often do you need to adjust the manual CCT's?

I have a 2005 rr5 which has heavy engine vibration. Goes through the frame , pegs and bars. It's has been getting worse. I've changed oil , plugs checked bolts ect. Vibrates at all rpm but worst between 4 and 7 rpm. ( it has the -1 + 2 sprockets. ). My hands are numb after 10 mins. I know it's engine as as soon as clutch is pulled in the vibs stop. Could this also be cct . Is my 2005 also oil fed ? . Thanks
