I've had an ABS blade from new for 2 years now and my experience so far is that it's good and would have another one. With regards to the SP the deal sounds great,go for it,I just hope they have a new model SP in 3 years when I finish paying this one off:)

As long as I could still get a luggage rack on the back for weekends away with my mates I would def have one:)

Standard or SP, they're both awesome!

I've had my 15 standard Repsol for 3 weeks now and I just can't get enough of it! Make sure you do the exhaust flap mod though.....well, if you can't afford another grand (like me).

    Enjoy!

Ha I've been looking at those and thinking the same plus I know the dealer pretty well and has said if I ever needed to take a passenger if I tell him before he would just lend me a bike

There's plenty of info on the mod on here. It basically disconnects the flap in the silencer from the servo under the seat, which gives the bike a 'better' sound. The stock setup is just too quiet! I'll invest in a pipe myself but as a temporary free measure, it's ok.

2 year warranty. ABS adds 11kg to the weight of the bike.

14 onwards Blade riding position is fine for anyone under 6'.

As for the brakes, buyer beware is the best advice, best thing to remember is that if they were so fecking good and a game changer they would be on every Honda, and every other manufacturer would be copying them, and they are not, just ask yourself why?

Best advise I have for folks with abs blades are to swap the current abs component locations for similar to those in the below pic! ;)

If not riding on a track just road why wouldn't anyone want the safety and performance of abs on country roads? I've never had abs but borrowed a demo for few days and loved it

Honda abs is good but very too heavy and intrusive.
10kg vs 1 kg for others bosh abs, s1000rr, Rsv4 etc.
And we can't disconnect it :(

Mainly because it doesn't work consistently every single time the brakes are applied!
From the lever coming back slightly more travel to the bar and to the point of absolutely no brakes working while traveling at speed!

Abs as a technology is a good thing and the commonly adopted Bosch systems that most manufacturers use including Honda (except on the cbr600rr/1000rr!) works great and as it should but the blades system in my opinion and a great deal of others including testers for the top magazines (but they don't like to mention it more than once due to not wanting to stop the flow of cash into mag from the mighty Honda!) is a complete and utter pile of prototype sh#t that should have been recalled/removed and stopped being fitted to the blade when issues first started being raised!

True but I've seen guys moan about bike weight over a few kgs then finish there fry up and struggle to get in there leathers ha they don't think twice about being overweight themselves.. The weight of it don't bother me really il save 6kg if change pipe apparently.
