+1 for Tyre Leader. I ordered a 120/70 Pirelli Rosso Corsa from them a few weeks ago for £82. Looking at the tracking info it was sourced from France. I was expecting it to possibly be an older tyre due to the cheaper price but was surprised to find it was a 2015. Oponeo is also another place I would look.
I use tyreleader too, bit slow on delivery for me, ordered 4 tyres and they turned up in 3 different deliveries over 2 weeks, not sure what happened there, but at least they were all 2015 tyres, was pleased with that
dod on gents, cheers for the replies, now i know where to get them i am down to 1 of 2 choices, m7rr's, pr4's
I thought the GT's were just for heavy bikes, like 1200cc + That's odd, there was a question there about GT's but its gone now, lol
so just between the 2 now, with only 10 quid of a difference between the pairs it all comes down to choice
I run PR4's as do many others, but then many others run M7RR's, so I guess you pay your money and you wont be far wrong with either, though if you are a hang off the wall of your tyre or intend doing a track day, I would probably not go for the PR4's as they are a sports touring tyre by nature, saying that, these new ones have never given me any reason to doubt them under very heavy acceleration and a mid amount over in the corners, I still have about a 1cm pussy strip and I am comfy with that
do you run 50 or 55's Steve? suppose the next question to that is whether 55's would sit under the hugger without rubbing
I run standard 50's, if I were buying again, I might try the 55's, but I am worried about the hugger issue as I run the aftermarket Honda Optional hugger, not sure if it would fit and I refuse to cut it, lol I am sure those that have tried the 55's can answer the hugger question better as some seem to fit and some don't ?
Tyre Leader is probably the cheapest on-line supplier, but ask the local supplier if he would match the price. That's what I did recently... and I got exactly the price for the tyres, fitted for £30, drive-in/drive-out ') As for the profile, I was always opting for 55, but indeed after the recent change (for M7RR, btw), the tyre rubbed my HRC rubber... grrrrrr So be careful, after it is fitted double check if there is a gap. I didn't, while the guys at the service didn't bother to tell me ;-( So, I have to re-fit the hugger to allowe for an extra space, luckily I figured out how ')
I used Fwr for race and road tyres and the sponsor Bsb riders. Every little helps just thought I'd add that
+1 for FWR, great guys, great prices, used them many times in the past when I was commuting to the office on my blade ')
You have a genuine Honda hugger Lyn?? Hoping I can just fire a 55 on there wae no rubbing issues?? That's fancy, ma wee flag has changed cause am oan holibags, oh and it's feckin roastin too feckin roastin in fact but a willnae complain too much
Daz, anything above -5 is roasting for a jock init? haha Mine is a powerbronze mate. It's not that there's plenty of adjustment, more that the fit is shit! although it did need a tweak to get it sitting straight. Enjoy your holibobs dude.
