First thing from me. All the best Mac on your new car

    But

    I don't get EV's personally

I know the people who go on about "ZERO" emissions. and I do wonder if they understand where electricity comes from. Nope not all solar and wind farms.
I'm all for new engines and fuels. I'm more excited about Hydrogen myself. I love the engineering that goes into the Tesla cars, Energy recovery etc

And i'm to much of a fan of nice gas guzzling V8's etc... to get a EV

But just my view. And the above is in no way pointed towards Mac or anyone else on here. Just my views

Scary thought an all electric French car, those that have just part electric, like windows, radios, ignitions etc last about 2K miles before they are ready for recycling

Yes - I agree there is no such thing as zero emissions when it comes to EV and depending on where you look and who you listen to, there are varying reports that suggest EV are more/less efficient than their gas guzzling equivalents. I like to think they are more efficient - not zero emissions - but certainly better than a petrol or diesel over the life cycle of the car.

Renault did a study on this a few years back and they seem to back up my thoughts. You can read all 116 pages of it here if you like (http://group.renault.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/fluence-acv-2011.pdf) but I'll summarize it here:

And as our reliance on fossil fuels for energy decreases and greener energy increases, true EV emissions will only get better.

I'm certainly not wedded to the idea of EV, I'm using this car as an experiment to see how it works and what benefits and drawbacks there are. And then after the PCP deal lapses in a few years time, decide whether or not to continue with it. In the meantime, I have my 'Blade for all the petrol-headed thrills I'm missing! :)

LOL, I don't think any of us can hold up charts promoting our green footprint when we hurtle around on litre bikes for the hell of it.

Lets be honest this whole emissions lark around cars/bikes etc is dwarfed by the emissions of jetliners and China building a belching fossil fired power station every few days, we are just being used as cash cows by the politicians as usual.

Then look at the heat map from space, its the greedy, fecking Yanks that are chucking out the most shite.
