I have just fitted R and g rearsets to my 2011 abs blade. Can anyone tell me what I do with the brake light connection. There doesn't seem to be a place to connect the hooked spring? Also, there's not much clearance between the swing arm and the exhaust connection point on the rearset - none at all in fact. Any solutions would be most welcome. Thanks mick
You will need to change the brake light switch for a banjo pressure switch, can you put a pic up of the exhaust mount?
Thanks mate! What's a banjo switch and where would I get one? I will post a pic of the swing arm shortly.
Exactly what I was gonna say!!! That's why I like the rizoma ones you get it with them and I think their sexy lol
Goodridge BANJO BOLT BRAKELIGHT SWITCH m10x1.25 | eBay Ebay do them, I bought mine from SES race products with the rearsets for ten quid
I've just added two pics to my album resposil blade. I don't know how to post them here - sorry. It's obvious which ones they are, they're clos-ups and are not the best quality as the bulb just went in the garage. Many thanks Mick
Nice bike, Your right no clearance, I would lose the rubber mounting bush, this will allow about 2-3mm extra clearance.
or you could put a couple of washers behind the mounting point for the rearsets, to give you some clearance,
Thanks gents!!!! I've just trimmed the rubber grommit on the swing arm side of the bracket and this has given me ample clearance. Couldn't see the wood for the trees today! Fitted a whole load of goodies today, all cosmetics, but it's made me feel good. R and G bar ends R and G fork protectors R and G cotton reels R and G rear sets Also fitted new brake and clutch levers Everything's working ok save for the rear brake light swithch. I shall order a banjo swicth asap and get it sorted as per advice. Thanks again gents Mick
Pics to follow tomorrow - just ordered the banjo switch from ebay -£13.95 with free postage. I will be asking for help again when it arrives as I have even less of a clue with electrics! Mick
I fitted mine 2 weeks ago mate. you gotta cut the rear wires coming from under the seat , Wire the pressure switch in and then tape it all up FlatstickHRC done a good how to guide on here . ill find it and get back to you
Heat-Shrinkable Sleeving : Sleeving : Maplin Electronics if possible its best to use heat shrink tube than tape. You an also fit this over the end of the banjo switch to hide the wires where they terminate.
For those that were interested, I've added some pics to my photo album 'repsol blade' of the mods I did yesterday. Hope you like Mick
