You probably know this but it is a Suomy Extreme Respol from 2009. You will probably need to get a lid painted, think @wedgiewolves#223 knows someone who paints lids.

I have been quoted circa £350 for having the nigh on same paint job done. Just deciding on which helmet to buy to have it done. Potentially going to be a Shoei XR1100.

That does sound a lot to me considering you can get a full custom paint job on fairings for £750. Is it because it's small scale that it costs proportionately more?

I got loads of quotes to paint my lid a few months ago, £350 is about right for a custom job as they have to strip the lid down and remove all the vents etc then fit it all back together. and most custom jobs are air brushed too so it is more artistic than throwing some paint on some fairings and is a more specialist job that not many people can do well. Personally i agree with you that it seems exccessive considering the size of the job but it is the going rate unfortunately

Wouldn't dream of Pissing away £350 on a Helmet Spray Job.

Paid less than that for a Shoei X-Spirit 2 in last years colours!

Thats excactly why they were only quotes :) they would get far more business if it were cheaper, i doubt i would even think of doing it for more than £150

I'm guessing that out there somewhere, there are folks who will stump up the £350 without blinking.
Which is why they can quote what they do, it'll be, as has been said, a niche market and the guys will be artists, not just some guy in a rented lockup doing £150 resprays who is doing custom detail work as an evening sideline.
As a matter of interest, how much is, say, a Rossi rep lid etc ??
The reason I ask that is, that, if you think about it, pay a lot of brass for the latest rep lid, just to be, realistically 1 of 100s with the same design and possibly suffering a poor fit, or pay, possibly, the same amount for a custom design of limited numbers, especially in the lid choice of your own choosing that's nice and comfy.
Just my opinion of course :D
