I know a few Lady Bikers that come out with us from a London Based forum i belong too, and when we go out in groups it is so funny to see the newcomers to the rides flocking around them like they've never seen pretty girls on Bikes before :)

The Mrs and I went to see the Vulcan do it's flypast at Manchester Airport the other week. She didn't want to ride her bike (an Aprilia 850 Mana)so I rode it and she went pillion which also saved us £6 in parking for just one bike at the viewing area. On the way out feeling happy with myself filtering slowly (and carefully) on the opposite side of the road a Fireblade went past in the opposite direction. I nodded and he f***ing bloke ignored me. I felt like getting off the bike and hitting the tw@ cos he' have nodded back if I was on my Repsol. You can tell I don't hold grudges hee hee

I was riding in the US last week and they don't do the nodding thing but in the area just outside Chicago they take their hand off the bar and hold it out stretched facing the ground. That was all riders independent if they were bandana wearing Harley riders or sports bikes.

I have always waved since I started riding even at Scoot riders and usually get a response BUT over the years I have had a few VW's and when it was Beetles I always waved, but during the last couple of years I purchased a VW T5 transporter and as used to be the norm I wave but you wouldn't believe the number of T5 owners who ignore me. I honestly think they've purchased one because they seem to be the "in vehicle" for the 30 somethings who have a little more disposable income but haven't a clue about their heritage and scene, even the T4 owners wave like feck but oh no, not the T5 owners (stuck up twats!) :)

    Sorry, rant over. :)

I like the hand out wave thing , it's popular in Europe, but tricky here due to riding on the correct side.

Anyone think we should swap sides and 'Comply'

Not sure how heartfelt this wave would be considered
    Mike
Perhaps if it flashed when bikes approached, it would be considered cool enough for hipsters.

Out today with some friends, loads of other bikes out and about but only about 40% acknowledged us. Really is a shame that as a minority group we don't even seem to appreciate one another, just saying.:(

I think we should be careful before we decide everyone don't care. I often miss a reply. Dozing, concentrating on something else, missing pot hole, it goes on with biking.
    Keep the faith.
    Mike.
