what would you be looking out for when giving it the once over?

aside from the more generic items like headstock bearings, chain condition, disc width, battery condition, aesthetic condition, tyre condition, when valve clearances last done, what else should i be looking for pls?

i will be changing all fluids etc anyway as a given

    cheers
    Jon

    Is the bike standard?
If it has an end can has it been mapped?
What are the fork seals and consumables (brakes etc) like?
Is the bodywork all standard or painted / fibreglass?
Has it been stood or used, as a bike thats been stood may have more issues like dry seals etc?
    How much service history?
Are any of the bolts lockwired indicating track use?
Does the owner have the log book or just the green slip? \
Is the bike being sold from the registered property on the log book or are you meeting at the services etc?
Has it been pampered with loads of bills etc?

Has the speedo been changed - Honda recall on 04 models, so what is the real mileage?
Has the stator been updated, again, a common problem on 04 blades.

    Otherwise as above standard questions.
