Hi All, Just ordered some Gillies Variobars for my 2012 Blade and would love some info on fitting. Have heard that purchasing 2" longer brake lines is advisable. Some mention of rerouting the clutch cable through the frame which needs some cutting of rubber seal etc. fills me with dread. Any advice on this and the fitting sequence would be great Cheers Dave
I ended up having to change the front brake lines and the master cylinder because it fouled the lower fairing tubes, I went to a Brembo master cylinder because it was a good upgrade with the new lines. I will post some pictures up later when I get home. The clutch cable is plenty long enough as with the wiring.
Hi Peter thanks for your info I look forward to the photos. When you say the clutch cable is long enough did you not have to reroute at all? Not sure what you mean about the master cylinder fouling the lower fairing tubes, with the bars and brake cylinder on them are they not higher?
Fitted these to my 13 Plate Blade. No need for any clutch mods just a longer Brake line, there is an adapter in the kit which you connect on to your existing line but it's Gash and still doesn't allow the full range of adjustment offered by the Bars. Best bet is to order a HEL stainless brake line kit with a 2" longer front over standard.
