Got to be PC for me. Rarely got the same components in it more than six months at a time and I'm allowed to swap bits out without the Apple closed architecture insisting that the best way for me to upgrade is to wait two years then pay through my arse for a whole new box, probably with a new OS that has no compatible drivers for all my peripherals.

    But that's just me.

Oh no, it's 98% of the personal computer users in the world.

Just done a soak test on some Eizo monitors with the built in calibrators. Nearly wore them out triggering them pretending to be one of the Tracy brothers and making them swing down out of the casing. Outstanding monitors, mind.

Mac Pro , gotta be an early Quad judging by the Apple displays , unless they was bought previously .

I have the 23" display with the first quad MacPro Mainly for FinalCut . Cracking machines and still way faster than my 4 year younger Macbook pro

yup sport on mate early quad :) maxed out though full ram and a few tb of drives haha gonna prise one of the newer ones from my dads place when they next upgrade them :) really need to get a new graphics card for this one mind as its propperly on its last legs

got to agree there Dan the desktop leaves my macbook pro for dead one thing I love about the mac build quality though the r/h corners propper smashed in and got a gap but it still goes really strong after a few incidents on shoots propper work horses even survives a drop down stairs LOL

Yeah cracking work horses ,gotta agree there mate, mine has survived a a fall from the back seat of a range rover on to the road , the aluminium just soaked it up . I want to upgrade but it just won't die !! ha ha

Rumors are there is a new slim line Mac Pro due soon so your dad may have an upgrade option in the near future . Is he running any 8 or 12 cores at the moment ? Those things are Animals !!
