I've fitted my PCV today, and I've located it under the rear seat, as is the norm. Space isn't wonderful under the seat, but I still manage to carry my Abus Disc Lock, Rag and Visor cleaner, the PCV and a tyre pressure gauge. All the space is now gone and my tool kit has now found itself on the garage shelf... Got me thinking, what do you guys carry under the seat?
No room under my seat at all bar the Optimate connector. Carry a Tool Kit? Lol, have to make do with full AA cover instead.
Mascara, lipstick... joking! Power commander, tool kit, Scottoiler and a snack (I get real bad hanger... can't risk it out riding)
Puncture repair kit, wallet and full breakdown cover. Thankfully the wallet is the only thing that's been used so far
What do you carry under the seat? WTF is the world coming to You guy's will be fitting baskets to the front next for the weekly shopping....
Yes, Matt, I know it sounds massively anal to ask such a daft question, but no harm is there Never thought about fitting a Super Gran Basket to my bike. But its food for thought Right off to research Super Gran and her basket fitment. Might need to fabricate the hanging brackets from the mirror bases
Got me thinking, in the end no idea, cannot remember the last time the seat cowl come off, so there must be the tool kit in there and probably quite a few spiders or maybe a family of mice, in which case they have probably eaten the tool kit. Just wondering, does anybody know if mice eat spiders?
Arrrrgh don't mention the S word they the only thing that freak me out & until now I never even thought about them massing under my cowl
Well bugger me, I never knew spiders ate mice........learn something new everyday, must be a couple of big f**k off spiders under the cowl then...I wonder if they would eat the tool kit as well?
Tool kit, optimate lead & charger, visor cleaner, disk lock, puncture repair kit, gas cylinders, phone, keys, money, side stand puck and some other bits and bobs...... quite a few items are attached to zip ties and dropped down into the tail section to be retrieved when needed by pulling the end of the zip tie to fish them back out. One pocket in my leathers and I don't like carrying anything in it....
See Greco, I can't wear a rucksack on a bike. I have my tank bag or 20 litre Kriega bag for small items. My view is, if I come off, then I want it all with the bike and not crushing my back as a Rucksack will induce you to roll as opposed to slide along the road, so I've been told.
Yes i agree mate, i used to wear the rucksack when i started riding and after a few miles my back was hurting because of the load so i have changed to kriega. Strapped at the back, so job done.
Waterproofs, visor wipes and a pair of sunglasses... Not keen on backpacks so if out working on bike will use US20 and an Oxford bum bag, but prefer to go with what's under seat.
Optimste usb charger , muc off fly cleaning kit , AA membership card . You ain't fixing a blade with what's in the toolkit , use the space for more useful stuff .
A 357 Magnum snubnose, a pair of knuckle duster and a hanky for the spatters! For any SMIDSY I come across I took out my mucoff visor cleaning kit, tool kit with long nose pliers & 3mm spanner in a padded envelope for db killer extraction and storage! In favour of the hardware that fits neatly beside my PCV
