, anyone fitted 55 tyres to 2014 none abs blade, any gains or just stay will original profile. Nearly ready for new set squared these off riding to assen, never ridden me bike so far in a straight line, not recommended.
We usually head Italy or Spain , great roads . Back to the point 55 profile any good chaps

Lots of threads about 50 vs 55 profile on here.

I now run 55 and would not go back. Turns better

Much prefer 55 to 50 profile, quicker turn in and feel better when leant over

Most, if not all of the other Superbike Manuf's fit 55's as standard.

There is a very good reason for this which Honda seem to see fit to ignore!

physically for the same tyre width & wheel size, higher profile gives you larger (taller) diameter and lower rpm (revs/mile).
So the back end sits a little higher hence the sharper turn in; possibly at the expense of high speed stability.
The lower rpm will give you higher in gear speed at the expense of acceleration.
Whether these are noticeable, is another matter.:)

If Touring then it's Michelin PR4's all day long.

Initially really disappointed! The jury is still out with me I went from 50 sportsmarts to 55 M7RR's the bike doesn't feel as planted at the front or steer as quick! It's just taller and not as flickable also not as much feed back!
It's maybe due to my height 5,7 that the bike feels tall and clumsy along with different tyre characteristics, I can't quite put my finger on it but I preferred my 50 sportsmarts although I love the extra comfort but I think that's M7rr's o_O
Maybe it's just horses for courses I donno!

You're the same height as me Trev and I can crank my 55's over and get the bike on its ear so it ain't a height thing!

Tried both and prefer a 50 series for the road ... 55 / 60 is better on track as you are on the side more.

Donno what it is Carter! Maybe i need to get used to it, but it just doesn't feel right! I had way more confidence on the 50's! or it could be with changing to different make of tyres at the same time as my 1st time on 55's! I've had Sportsmarts from new so maybe to much change for my grey matter to deal with  What I will do is change back to a 50 once the rear is goosed and see if I like that better!

I prefer the 55's as well but whichever gives you the most confidence are the ones to stick with. Most of this riding lark is in the brain anyway IMO and there are very few who can exploit the standard profiles on the road let alone more extreme profiles/settings[emoji4]

Yeah always best to stick to whatever you feel better on mate, I prefer the 55's too, but am also trying the 200's at the moment, and they feel good too, but reckon I will go back to 190/55 for my road tyres
