Hi Everyone, a little help please!

I bought a second hand HM dash for my GSXR 1000 K7, which arrived today.

Plugged it into my lap top and went through all the options, all good.

Fitted it to the bike, went to start it and the battery was flat as a whiches tit, typical.

So jumped it of a spare battery and the HM illuminated blue, but with no text graphics etc. the brightness varied with engine revs, but still a completely blank screen.

I've had the bike on trickle charge, enough to start the bike but not fully charged and tried it again, the same.

If I plug the dash into a USB, the text comes on and displays everything the bike is doing as you would expect, as soon as you remove the USB, displays gone. The battery voltage on the HM dash was displayed as 11.1v when it was on, so the battery is not fully charged.

So, anyone experienced this before, is the Unit faulty?

I have an issue of a poor connection so check the back plate and the loom plug. Also did you get the right back plate and that he dash is set for the correct model bike?

Yep, it's set up for the right model, and as soon as I plug a USB cable into it it will display correctly with all dash functions working so it's getting a signal from the bike, revs lights gear indicator etc all fine, but the display is dead without the USB feed.

I'm still learning about them but sounds like its basically functioning but I think i read something similar on here and it was a faulty earth. Did the firmware swap from another make to Suzuki?

Just spoken to the lad I bought it from and prior to going up for sale it "allegedly" went back to HM for refurbishment after loosing the display.

he's agreed a refund so I'll send it back.

    Awesome bit of kit tho.
