Filtering past stationary traffic when a cager turns right from a side road and stick nose into my path.
Didn't even have the chance to use my advanced ABS:D

Happened right outside the local cop shop! Witnesses and cops all on my side!

Bike may be written off as forks damaged(not bad but lugs for fender snapped off)

More pissed off as I damaged the precious cargo in my Kreiga ruck sack:( Luckily only the box but still!!

Thats good too. You need an insurance company on the ball.
If the bike is written off, will you get another Blade, or try something else?

Whatever happens I'm having this blade, (engine is bullet proof) if written off I'm buying it off Bennetts to either track it or break up.

My bike has excess of 40K on the clock so replacing the forks and fairings I would expect would be cat d/c. The off was quite low

Next bike probably another Blade if finances permit a SP ABS.........

Bad news but I would say almost 100% your bike will be written off - the cost of the tank cover is a grand I think! Nose cone and upper fairing will soon add up.

Agree with what you say about the engines being bullet proof - the internals of mine was immaculate with almost no wear at 80k so your one is just run in.

If you get the chance to buy it one option is put it on road and replace the nose cone as a starter then the other panels when they turn up on ebay - all depends if you happy to ride round in a slightly tatty looking bike for a while - the fork lug / damage is the one to get checked out fully.

got hit by a car while filtering 3 years ago. Car pulled out of a side road and took me out. Had to settle 50/50. Although filtering is legal there is still a responsibility of care on your part, Just like the chap pulling out of the side road. Got independent solicitors and 9 months of arguing for this result. However was insured fully comp so bike was written off and I bought a new blade within a month. Good luck and all the best.

Doh, I'd be very disappointed with that result, apart from the bike I need to claim for my trusty Kriega Rucksack as it is now ripped, track vest (deffo now used!) and my Arai rx7, and now my lower back feels sore, it aint gonna be cheap.

Hopefully it will go my way, got witness on my side as well as the police finger crossed!

make sure you have reciepts for everything fella as they offered me 50 quid for my textile trousers as i didnt have one, also didnt pay me anything for my rucksack as i didn't have one for that either.
the bloke was done for careless driving in my accident and its still taken 7 month's so far hope you have better luck mate!
