That's the idea Dan. Then if any member can help within the forum it's a pm sent to arrange things between there selves.
Hiya Dan A great idea and I for one put my hand up yesterday. Having slept on it I still think this is a bonza idea but with a little more thought on security. I have also noted GaryB’s ideas this morning which might also need a little more chin stoking to make it work: If you live in say, London or Liverpool or any major conurbation a pin in the map would tell you nothing about actual location. If you live in a very rural location (ie me) it might be a different story, a pin in the map on a location with only one or two houses would narrow the search for some little scrotum with a bolt cutter and a tranny van. Maybe, the map should only be available to known and trusted members who are known personally to at least one other member or been an active member for what ever period of time. I have only been a member since the early summer, don’t know anyone personally. You might think that I am just some sad old git who has a warped sense of humour, likes Maltesers, lives somewhere in the Fens and has a life long love affair with motorcycles. But, for all you know I could be a career criminal living on the Costas who just wants to get his grubby mits on your P&J. I for one would be very happy to help out another member who is in trouble or be able to ask someone for help when I snap some widget bolt. However, an example of a possible situation: Should member A crash, sit on the curb and log in (assuming he/she has a smart phone) to find member B is only a few miles away, but Member B is not on line. Perhaps the Moderators could have a list of member’s mobile numbers (not on open forum) who have agreed to this. Member A could click an ICE tab within the forum which I am sure if popped/lit up we would all stop what we are doing and have a look. Member A puts in location and what the problem is. Should the moderators not be on line I am sure that someone will be that knows them personally and could call them. Member B’s mobile number could be given directly to Member A. I am sure it would more complicated than that but I am sure you get the idea of where I am going. Maybe I am over thinking this and with all new ideas it will evolve over time. Look what happened when some Charlie said to himself “you know what, I am sick of peddling this bike, what if stick a one of those fangled new combustion engines in the frame!” With all things in life, You only get out what you put in ! Food for thought or total bollocks, over to you lot to see what you think
Why not put a pin in the nearest major town or city close to you, then it gives a general location but you keep your anonymity
Oh yeh Jamie...... I working with long winded contracts, devil's always in the detail. clearly cant just see a simple solution. I need to get a life. Cheers Dude.
The only way to advance the map like that would be to get a web developer to make our own . I was thinking as Jamie is in that members put a pin in the general area , could just be a pin in the county they live in to give a rough idea of who is near . I think it would be down to members then to contact each other and find out exactly how far they actually are and what meets are possible . Ill deffo keep researching the ideas and any developments i will report back here
'I am working' the devils in the detail lol and the simplest solutions are often the hardest to find Sorry just very bored today lol
Is that your tribute to the life of the hugely lamented Steve Jobs, Megs. If so be careful, mate. The bastard's undoubtedly got some scheme for getting money out of you for it even from beyond the grave.
Cheers Dan. I think I am just over complicating things again, force of habit I am afraid. Ningunas preocupaciones Jamie. Tienen que ahora ir a la playa y ver si cualquier Fireblades se ha dejado abierto en el muelle
LoL not bad, seeing as I am a criminal living on the costa's thought i would go down to the beach and see what fireblade I can nick from the quay.
I'm on there - the tag isn't where I live though, it's just down the road. How spread out is it though, I'm looking rather lonely up in North Wales!
Simon's recently relocated to North Wales, mate. Something to do with the witness relocation programme. I think.
hey dan what with don: mack in new zealand and silver h in melbourne were gonna need a BIGGER map!! lmao
