Just sorting the blade out ready for Donnington after doing Pembrey recently. Noticed the brakes grab the disc at same point when spin the wheel on the stand... You can hear it as well. What's that about then? Getting fed up with these brakes on this bike!
disc probs either got a warp, but 1st option is to try and free off the floating things... Can't think of the name of the damned bit. Come on, someone help me out... Anyway, I ride in all weathers and the floating things (haha) often get crudded up. I put a nut and bolt through, tighten it up and then turn it with a socket while spraying copious amounts of brake cleaner on to it until it frees up. Often works and it allows the disc to float again... And... it's worth a try before sticking micrometer on it to check that disc not warped...
Discs are spotless (washed every week) ... No warp either... It's like the pads are moving in the caliper ...
Yep, that's the things I meant, and that's what I do every now and then as part of cleaning. Don't be shy squirting brake cleaner on. It might just cure it for you... There again...
Scott, give them an extra chance by forcing out the pistons when you have the calipers off and cleaning them with a toothbrush and brake cleaner then push them back once more after coating them in Castrol red rubber grease.
They were cleaned up just before track day... didn't use red grease mind, as don't like the mess (OCD lol)
Maybe it's because I gave it a good wash and wax after being abused on track and road for the last few weeks!
Will have to give this a try and at the end of brands hatch I had bad vibrations coming through the handle bars pads and discs have only about 2k miles
