I used to get roaming grandstand tickets ,but they weren't available this year when I looked, but my grandstand tickets have seat numbers on them, not sure if that's any help?

Most are reserved seating on the Sunday. On the Saturday it depends as some grandstands are reserved (Club) but some aren't (Village A iirc).

Depends if your tickets are "roaming" or not.

I had roaming tickets when I went, and found that generally people moved around a lot, so you could rock up 10 minutes before the race and get a good seat for the Moto2/Moto3.
For the main event the best seats in the best stands were getting taken up early... we got to the end of Abbey about 30 minutes before the race started, and literally got the last seats in the stand. Was a GREAT to place to watch from too.
