Right, Can someone please help a numpty like me. Does it show how much fuel you have left on the computer or am I being a dick? Cheers Andy 2009 hrc blade
No iit shows how much you used since reserve light came on Mine is in gallOns and the most I've dared take it to is 0.6gallons into reserve You have a good 30-40 miles left when the light comes on.
I was told 0.3 was the absolute maximum and then you would be out of fuel, and it's about 20 miles... 0.6 is damn good going
I just read the owners book. Its says there is a 0.77 Imp Gal reserve. It's not clear wheter it counts up in litres or gallons though.
I have only had the light come on once and got to 0.2 and thought i was pushing it. Then only managed to get 14.5 ltrs into the tank so a good 3 ltrs left.
If your trip is in mpg the reserve runs in gallons or you can have km/litres if you want I would say 0.77g is about right for the reserve. If you average 40mpg then you will get a good 30miles out of the reserve
I think it's the most ridiculous way of counting down fuel! What's wrong with a simple countdown rather than count up? What genius thought of that?! Come on Honda, needs to be better on the next blade. I always wonder what is left. Never risk going over 0.5 myself.
Thanks everyone for the info! but I,m still confused, Why can't they just put a normal fuel gauge on!
who knows, why don't you fill in this feedback form and you can ask Honda UK if it is bothering you so much. I am sure they will happily answer the question Contact Us | Honda (UK)
I was running very low in France heading for Calais and it went up to 0.9 so I believe JM1! I still only put 16.5 litres in the tank so there must have been more in there - think its 18 litre tank? Also, handy tip - if you are TOTALLY out, open the fuel cap... There is a vacum in the tank and when the top is open it draws more gas into the pump. So a mate told me APPARENTLY - never tried it myselt
Ok there is only one way to find out... Rob, u need to do a 1000rr test section! I'll follow u with a jerry can and run it till it's dry... I say u do it as I don't want to shank up my injectors!!
"Proper" fuel gauges never actually work though do they (ie, they are not accurate). I reckon Honda went for something that's actually more accurate for measuring, but doesn't actually help the rider any more than other gauges. They also like to be different!
Aint got a clue mate but it said 2.1.. I was gonna wait for the next fuel station but jibbed it as the dealer told me it could run dry on 2.6 instead of 3.0 like honda say
