I've just bought 2 of these for the kids as I'm fed up with them squabbling over who's going to use the mac etc... The missus doesnt know as she said they dont need them, so I got her an iPad 2 to shut her up ( and to get an Xmas mouth bath) SONY Vaio VPCEH2H1E/W.CEK 15.5" Laptop - White buy online | Currys Are these good specs, and will they last them a while? Kids are 10 and 13 and will be used for homework, sims and minecraft, iTunes and movies.... Emily uses PowerPoint and video edits, Harry browses you tube for funny videos etc.... I'm not up on pc's these days, all apple for me...so no idea. I only bought them as they looked good!
Hard to beat the Vaio range, Si. 4 Gig of RAM, 64 bit OS is more than enough for most uses. However, I make a point of refusing to fix anybody's computer if a teenage girl has been using it as it turns into a Tardis for crap within days. LOL. No computer known to man is ever really fast enough for video editing though. It's an unwritten rule, eh Dan? It's a good choice, and if you need a bed on boxing day...
Mac's love video man They can always jump on the iMac to use iMovie i guess Si , Export to iTunes and they can save they're films in they're iTunes libarays then
We have two 13" Vaio's. One that three years old with ram upgrade to 2 gig and still works ok other then the mouse button is getting a bit worn and another that is 3 months old, 4 gig ram, light enough to spin on your little pinky and mega fast. We also have a Sony big screen telly. You cant go far wrong with Sony kit. Just need BT to sort out the steam powered BB out here and we would be sorted.
Ha! BT announced all the places in Devon that they're going to upgrade to infinity this year, today. Everywhere but Ken's bloody house, it seems
