I always worry when getting tyres changed for my 20" alloys on my car - specially as i had bought them new.

I found tyre places damaged the wheel when trying to get the tyre on with there machines,

They said they can only try there best not to cause any damage (scratches from there machine)

I did not think it was an issue with bike tyres also...?

I went to a Kawasaki Dealer today, to have 2 tyres fitted on loose wheels, and they damaged one of my Repsol wheel very little but still bugging me!

I only noticed when i got home and cleaned before putting back on the bike!

'Been there got the T shirt' always a difficult one trying to prove your wheels were perfect prior to the change. If they use a good machine it should lift the arm slightly clear when rolling the tyre off and the lever should not really contact the rim. It comes down to being really careful but even the best get it wrong.

You could try and discuss it with them and if they are decent may get your wheel refurbed but if threaten them with negative posts on social media and see what happens. If no joy don't use them again tell friends not to use them and get a touch up. A bit of patience and building up the paint polishing back with T Cut and it would take a particular man to spot it on the bike.

    Good luck

That's looks quite nasty for a tyre change! Main stealer scratched mine a few years ago after boasting they guaranteed no damage... they still never sorted it so ain't been back since for anything (arse as I purchased the bike from them new!) put countless numbers of people off ever using them again to.
Make em pay in other ways.... 5ways in Hull mine was for the record lol

    Small Claims...

Cost you about £20 IIRC. No lawyers involved. Just you, them an the person in charge. Most of the time the amount you want is less than it would cost to defend so you win by default. Especially if you notify them right before you register it that you're taking them to small claims. Register it somewhere convenient to you as well. Not necessarily them.

I change my own tyres (always have) and while I'm as careful as I possibly can be I still manage to mark the wheels at times.

but if they state that theres no guarantee against damage then you don't have a leg to stand on.

done my own for quite some time now (you wouldn't believe how much money I've saved, but that's another story :) ) and as careful as I am,i do scratch the wheels at times,it happens, but as I'm not precious about things like that doesn't bother me.

I had a pair of tyres fitted today at demon tweaks in Wrexham before the mechanic took the bike into the workshop he checked the wheels for dammage with me present said it was for mine and his benefit. Have used them before the guy is quite meticulous. They are also reasonably priced

Ive used these guys before and they were very good.
Not sure they will beat the price you have though but might be worth a call.
