question to those who have newish blades.... Is the 8k service 12 months after the 600 mile service, 12 months after registration, or at 8k miles irrespective of time. I was always led to believe it was 12 m after registration but don't know if that was true, or if i'd serviced sooner than actually necessary. What will Honda warranty conditions expect? Cheers
Hi my understanding is that 8000 mile service at 8000 miles irrespective of time. With annual services in between to satisfy warranty conditions. ( just basic oil and filter changes).
Are some items of service schedule not based on time,i.e. oil and brake fluid as it goes off regardless of mileage, and others based on mileage,i.e. spark plugs, valve clearances etc? Obviously depends on what you use your bike for, track etc and high mileage you may change oil more often than yearly.
Had my 2015 blade a month now and have 790 miles on the clock.I've had to take it off the road after reading amongst the many threads that the 1st service is at 600 miles, It's booked in for it's 1st service now. One question though, what happens to the warranty? The only reason it's going in late is that I wasn't told any service schedules by the dealer.
If you bought the bike new you should have received an Owners manual and all the information is in there regarding running in and service schedules as well as a heap of other information, well worth a read. As far as the warranty goes you should be ok,Honda engines are bombproof, just don't go thrashing it until you get that oil changed.
As above all contained within- there' miles and time, spark plugs and valves clearance is from memory miles, coolant time etc
I read the manual at least 3 times over. If I missed the scheduled service dates it will be totally my bad I suppose. I haven't caned it up until now, thats a bonus hopefully.
Many say it's best to cane it from the off, I'll let those who have explain why. I did, for no reason but to put a smile on my face
A smile is on my face every time i throw my leg over her, best looking bike i've ever owned Gutted I missed that service schedule. Thanks to you guys out there though i didnt go to 3000 miles which i had in my head from every other bike i've had. Cheers!
What service mine is 12000 miles not missed a beat, I'm I'm missing something or saving money. I will get it serviced next year.
Likewise. Harsh reving up and down in 2nd on the a3 after it had got up to temperature with 20 miles on the clock. Don't pretend to understand the mechanics, but supposedly on modern engines, this is actually better than easing it in. (And more fun!)
i have new blade i did ride under 4000 rev for forst 200 miles now still keeping under 60000 rev till 600 mile service my understading is that after 600 mile service it is better to rev the engine to red line time to time just avoid being hash and take it easy for a little while more
I've covered 1200 miles and haven't seen the shift light flash yet 8-| And I don't exactly hang around!
