well here she is guys! a long awaited, turned up Friday before I went TT, so she got a good Run in. all I can say about this bike is pure porn! Dash board to cream over, an A level to work it required, and a tail tidy and exhaust required! but all in all STUNNING!! photo on peel road to kirk Michael if anyone recognises the area.
Nice bike there got to love the R1 I still miss my 4xv after all these years, but that's a proper weapon love the blue scheme as well
ooooohhhh yyyyeeeeaaahhhhh, enjoy it fella. Seen one in the flesh last week and I was a bit surprised on how small it was, but really nice though.
thanks Mate. comfort wise it is a bit race rep hard but with 5 suspension setting you can get to a good road setting. pretty harsh in powermode 1 but change it to 2 or 3 and calms it right down. i'm still playing with set up but M1 seems to be the best as for the seat....yep it's hard and probably struggle to tour on it. but overall I love it.
Was never convinced about the look or over hyped performance figures, or inflated price then last night heard an R1M with race pipe screaming up the straight on track. Oh I want one. I mean I really want one!!!
Felt the same when I heard a Race 2011 Cross plain crank R1 at Brands on a trackday. As soon as I finished my session I hung out on the pit just listening to it, oh the noise!!!!!!!!!
I love it, I rode a 10plate blade prior to this and would describe the Blade as a Sloppy Sponge compared to the R1M, however said that. The Blade is much more practical for longer distance. don't get me wrong, I love the blades and have had 4 along the way, but the Electronics on the new R1M and BM are phenomenal and the bike handles like on rails. But a Stiff Seat and Sore Bum after I took it from Preston to knock hill the other week without touching a motorway. overall. try before you buy.
Cheers for the update. Sounds an absolute weapon. Have you ridden a 1299s in comparison when you were considering your purchase.
My gran loves the R1 says it's like sh*t off a shovel getting her to bingo....suggested she try a Blade but she says it'd be too much to handle so she's sticking with the yam
