Price looks about right from a dealer. Do you want one with ABS? Ex demo wouldn't put me off.

    http://1000rr.co.uk/threads/important-notice-please-read-if-you-own-an-abs-2009-onwards-model.11881/

In summary (from what I know), because the system is effectively brake-by-wire (because it is combined/linked with the rear brake with the split determined by the ECU), sometimes the ECU throws a wobbler and the lever comes back to the bar. And then you need to go and buy new trousers.

Then, if you ever need to bleed the system, it is a monumental faff (it covers 34 pages in the service manual, just to give you some context!)

I understand that Honda made some updates to the system in 2013, but couldn't tell you what. I'd still go for non-ABS though given the choice (though will admit I ended up with a non-ABS more by luck than judgement at the time!)

Looks nice but i would buy @1000rr73 bike and treat yourself to some goodies.
My concern is that it is an ABS model that has been returned by its 1st owner....why??
be gutting if you get one of the 'abs' models that give you grief, imo

I don't get why abs bikes are a headache...? Many have said it is. But is it really that much of an issue on a 2015 bike? And if so will it be better in 2016?

Its not so much ABS bikes as ABS Blades. Dealer time is 5 hours to bleed the system every 2 years. The Blade ABS adds around 11kg in weight. To be fair mine was generally ok apart from inconsistent lever at low speeds (which I think Honda say is normal).

Although I've just got rid of me 14 abs I must say I thought it was excellent ( the abs that is).
It settles the bike on the way into corners with not too much front end dive and from a very recent experience it can be a lifesaver ( car stopped around a blind bend )
I'm pretty sure that without abs it would have been a different outcome despite my many years of riding fast bikes.
From what I understand some peeps have problems due trailing the brake which In itself is bad practice as it means your brake light is constantly on.

Saw your bike in the showroom today Taz. Good looking bike. No wonder you got new tyres in the deal, wtf was the guy doing riding around on those, front must have handled like shyte, that was probably the worst wear I've ever seen.

    Not long to go now!
