I'm an Appleophile )) and own most of their products and last year for the first time since owning an iPhone 3 and all subsequent updates, I went from an iPhone5 to a Samsung S5, BUT I sort of miss the Apple phone even though the S5 is more open to personalisation, which once it's set to your liking is then pretty much left alone. (Yeah, I know you can jailbreak an iPhone). I've just had the opportunity to purchase a used iPhone6 at a very good price and I really like how sleek they are and the user interface. the only downside I suppose is the handcuffs they call iTunes but I treat it as what it is - a tool to allow it's use! Whats the opinion of the 1000RR massif? iPhone 6 or Samsung?
Always been an Apple fan. Do like it when things work well, even if you are tied in a bit...bit like Honda lol
I had iphones for years & when it worked....great...but when something went wrong..it was please shoot me now! Finally tipped me over the edge & I went back to Samsung & Im back in a peaceful place .....whereas the bloke got the new ip6 and this is his face on a regular basis .....
Used to like iPhone but had a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for nearly two years and the iPhone is only just catching up with 4k video recording and multiple apps open on the same page! So for me I'll stay with Samsung for the moment
Not exactly partisan about it but I really can't understand why people go down the Apple route. They kicked off the whole smartphone thing into the monster it is today but they seem to have been consistently losing ground to Android for quite a few years now. They strike me as being much like Harley Davidsons. Lagging behind in the technology stakes yet charging you twice the price because they're stylish and shiny. I bought a 64GB OnePlus One last year. Can't remember how much I paid for it but from memory it was less than £300. Pretty much the same specs but for some reason the iPhone's twice the price. And then you're shackled to iTunes. Everything's more expensive. The list of reasons to not buy an iPhone just seems to go on and on.
I went with the 6 in the end. My thinking was that my contract is due an upgrade next July so I can always go with the S6 if I miss my S5. Also I could probably make a few sheckles in the process. So far so good. Keep the opinions coming.
Apple for me,works brilliantly without any fuss. Don't have a problem with iTunes,I can drop any old MP3 in there and it syncs with the phone.
Do any of your friends/family use iOS? as sharing cloud albums and using iMessage may be a bonus. Do you have any other Apple products in the house that would benefit from you using an iPhone? How does the price compare?
A top end smartphone/tablet is essentially a massively capable computer. If you buy Apple you can only buy/download software from the single vendor (total monopoly) and they decide which software you can/cannot install, often to suit there own business goals at the expense of your user experience. You can't even install your own software on your powerful £600 pocket computer. Admittedly not concerns most people are worried about unfortunately, but as a big proponent of open software, it depresses me that anyone buys Apple phones & tablets. If Honda said the next Fireblade must run on Honda-approved fuel from Honda filling stations, can only run Honda tyres which you can only purchase from Honda, and will only ride on Honda-approved roads, would you buy one?
My wife has an iPhone and iPad but tbh we probably don't use them to their full capabilities. Price wise they are more expensive than other makes but I've always found the competition to be plasticky rubbish, regardless of how well they operate. The design and quality of apple products I feel are far better. The difference is a bit like how I feel looking at my Fireblade then looking at my mates Kawasaki
