Guys, I'm sure this has been asked before but the search bar just brings up loads of old classifieds. I want a QS for my bike but I'm wandering if they are bad for the gearbox? if fitted correctly are they spot on or do they cause unnecessary wear on the box? Are there any that are better/quicker/smoother than the others and lastly do is there any advantage to getting once that plugs into the bikes ECU or one with its own, or can they be plugged in the PC and is that better? Apologies for all the questions but I've never got involved with a QS before so don't know too much about them other than what they do. Thanks.
I have a power commander and have their quickshifter fitted to 2014 cbr1000rr and it work perfectly. Just follow the guidelines of changing up above 5000 and it's awesome
I didn't know PC did a QS? ill have a look at those, i always go to look at HM but dont know much about any other brand. Thanks Chris.
Don't buy a power com one. Just go for it and buy a hm one they are good and don't usually go wrong. Pm Arthur on here he can sort u out I'm sure. If not there's many sellers. Try Fwr tyres they sell them or Harris , u might even get ten percent with harris. There are other makes but I'm Happy with hm as are others. Never tried a translogic myself but hear good things just u can't swap from bike to bike like hm or run reverse shift if u feel like trying it
Thanks mate, I've just bought a HM plus from a member on here, i was going to wait until after winter but the more i read the more i want one, just need to measure my shift rod when i get home so I can order a replacement.
Arthur is the man to ask ! He knows everything about QS and much more ! https://awrudd.wordpress.com/
Thanks man, I've bought one but I got a notification earlier to say he's sent my money back without an explanation so I'm not sure where I stand at the moment?
Hi I've had a translogic quickshifter fitted at rjs Super Bike at mallory park what a difference should have done it long time ago brilliant piece of kit
Yeah? I fitted one last night, not had chance to really try it yet due to the weather so I'll see at the weekend. Hopefully it should be much smoother and quicker!
On the very quick test I did last night the change was a BT jerky so I'm thinking I may need to reduce the cut time?
Mine was set up for me on a dyno so I was lucky .the guy who did mine was doing two15 plate bsb bikes at the same time. Thank god
I've sorted it now I think. App apart from the bottom rose joint that fell out whilst I was in a ride, had to ride all the way home in only 6th gear.
Nightmare mate, not as hard as it sounds actually due to the low down torque a 1000 has, don't think I could of done it on my old R6. New parts in the post so not a big issue now. Must remember loctite in future!!
Complete waste of time on the road IMO. I have one on my trackbike and it's great but works best when changing at top revs. Faster on the road?....Yeah whatever! If your down to a tenth for each gear change then I'd just stick with clutchless changes. Sounds good and feels good but faster on the road?......Nah! How often do you get a chance on the road to go right through the box?
as above, but most things, bar maybe suspension are a waste of time on the road bike, even a blade is a waste of time in reality
