Well this morning my dad in law who is 71 woke to find his pride and joy Repsol cbr600rr had been nicked out of his garage in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Registration is YG64 FHG for what it's worth. Clearly a targeted theft so be careful not to leave your garage door open when not necessary or if anyone is following you home. Hear about it so often but never really feel like it's going to affect you - maybe I was being too naive and put too much faith in humanity. Poor sod worked hard all his life, never a day off sick in 50+ years of graft. Fella still works and slammed 259 hours in the last month alone. He was just about to do a deal on a new Fireblade but I'm not sure whether this has knocked his duck off and how this will effect his insurance and the deal that was on the table. Thieving bar stewards.
Yeah..........theft recovery is not one of the required targets the police need to meet so I can't see it being found by them any time soon! Feel sorry for the father n law tho hope he gets a pretty decent payout to allow him to get a new bike without a big hit on difference.
All that aside, fair play to the dude for still riding a Sports Bike at 71! Hope I'm still supple enough at that age!
Don't let the scum get you down..... So it costs a few more quid to insure his new bike, Live your life. Mike.
Why don't people put trackers on ,I use BIKETRAC and recovery rate is second to none, only the other day I moved my dommi 2 yards and they were on the phone well worth the £300 I think and you can track it 24/7 on a web portal and it picks up rf frequencies in under ground http://www.biketrac.co.uk
He's not heard anything of any concrete value for insurance yet. He's just gutted. Plus side he's getting garage alarmed and thinking more about security on next bike and property. Just me being a soft knacker "it couldn't happen to a nicer bloke" and all that. He had a blade when the 2008 model was launched and with me and other son in law having a blade was wanting to join us. At least nobody was hurt.
