Just returned from the quack. She's confirmed osteoarthritis in all the knuckles of the my right hand, the beginnings of the same in my left hand and my right knee. This looks like its going to force a lifestyle decision onto me regarding my motorcycling life from this point on, and I have to admit, it's a decision I'm dreading to have to make...

    Heated grips or gloves...

    Don't give in to it....

I have it in both knees. Doc stated that my next stage was knee replacements. I'm determined to delay that as long as poss. I've had to give up my trials riding as this was impactive on them and am concentrating on pedal biking. Got to keep them moving and exercised. I use ibuprofen gels a couple of times a day, and when I go out road riding I put my quilted linings back into my cordura kit a bit earlier than others.

Keep exercising, get one of those stress ball things and just sit on a night squeezing and releasing. As you've said, heated gloves or grips.... Decisions, decisions...

Yes, the cold has an effect, so think how to combat it. You get older quicker when you stop doing the things you enjoy...

Kenneth are my oldest forum friend, we have shared a beers, private giggles and numerous telephone calls, so you will understand its not in my nature to show any compassion and sensitivity to anyone beyond L or my two children ......So it wont come as any surprise that I might be asking myself if your unfortunate infliction is not a result of years of right handed self abuse.

We all know the rules: 99 changes hands to share the load..... But what is really confusing me is your a lefty.....

definitely gloves then you can keep them on indoors.

    It's called playing away ;)

Whilst I have heard that gloves keep your hands warmer, grips are permanently fitted and so you are covered for when there is the unexpected cold snap, or even for when the evening is drawing in at the end of a good ride and the fingers just need a bit of extra tlc.

It's true that Mrs Lefthand Palm has had considerably more exercise over the years. Perhaps that's the secret of her resistance so far.
