Looking into the costs, does anyone have any idea's how I can get a bike over from Berlin to London - without it costing too much?

Bike is unregistered so can not be riden back.

    Thanks

Hire a van and do it yourself. Probably the cheapest way I reckon. Plus you can have German beer, win win! ;)

I've been looking at something similar myself recently (Munich to Yorkshire). Most of the firms I contacted wouldn't quote as it is out of season. I got some quotes via Shiply from £250+ but people bid for the job but I didn't know whether the bike would be insured etc. I had a quote from of £420 from http://www.chasmortimer.co.uk/ who seem to be well respected which didn't seen too bad.

    Cheers,

    Ian.

Van is an option.. But can I strap the bike down in a rental van?

I used shiply when I got my bike back from Italy...its not insured..and random people can put offers up with a feedback system that is not very reliable..

    £420 seems okay...

Guess once i price up van hire, fuel hotels..would cost neat £500..?

Berlin is a LONG way over in Germany - def. worth a google maps distance chart, then work on maybe 17p a mile for fuel in a van, plus food, hotels etc. to give fair idea. Good road trip with a mate 'on a mission' so to speak.

Calais to Berlin is a full days drive, done it a number of times.

As suggested, Chas Mortimer are good and experienced.

I drove back from Berlin in a car a couple of weeks ago, it's an 8hour drive to Rotterdam (as fast as possible sticking to the limits). In a van, it's got to be 10-12 hours, so perhaps would be better with two drivers.
Berlin is huge, I stayed at the Crown plaza which was a stunning hotel.

    Roads are great BTW

I don't think anywhere would do 1 way van hire between different countries. Even if they did, by the time you have paid for flight, van hire, fuel, ferry etc. you won't be that far off the cost of someone collecting it for you.
