Is there a new blade coming our next year...? If so any different from the current 2015 model? Also will they be making Repsol in 2016? As I think they do them every other year..or am I mistaken?
I read Honda have submitted new patents for the new blade and it was due for release 2017 but is ready early and will be out next year. It will be all new, no electronics and not big hp but small and very light. The patents were to make a super slim engine and for new materials for light wheels plus some other stuff. Honda have always said they don't think electronics are for road bikes so will be very interesting what they come up with...
Sounds like a GP500 replica small, light, slim, no electronics... I am in the market for a new bike next year, but its getting damn hard to know what to go for?
I would have loved to buy a Fireblade SP in Repsol this year but Honda totally ####ed up by making them all ABS.
I also have heard it's out next year. That coupled with the fact there are so many deals on the current bike and it's in their 4 year cycle I'd be surprised if it's not.
So is it worth waiting? As I will be buying a Repsol...but one dealer said they may not have any Repsols left by next year.. So got me thinking..
Not sure if the blade will be out next year but I would think it's unlikely. Too many false dawns from Honda up till now. Also I'm possibly one of the few that actually really dislikes the Repsol as it makes the bike look cheap. A straw poll amongst biker mates puts me in the majority camp but when non biking people hear I've got a blade they ask if it's a Repsol lol. Go figure. Better to just buy what floats your boat today as tomorrow is a whole new thing..
Not a huge repslow fan either tbh.... But the new sp is proper nice... Minus the fanboy numbers though
Going by what a lot of the journo's are saying if honda do release a new blade in 16 it will be similar to Suzuki and released mid to late next yr rather than a normal bike release ready for delivery in February! The late release also means the bikes not eligible for race homologation in 2016 series! Honda have been holding back and trying to milk the market share they dominated without spending any money and now they have been caught with there pants down and the newer bikes have eaten into honda's market share so are trying to scramble and play catch up!
For me to change it's going to be for something I really want plus of course ride better than my HRC blade, also don't like the Spanish petrol station colours! All these lean angle etc sensors .......you really have got to go some to get the benefit unless of course on a track where I can see how you could need or want them, my Blade 2 yrs old next month so will have a spin on them all and decide if not then keep what I have,
So If a new blade does come out next year..will that mean the current 2015 models will be even cheaper @ dealers? And would the new model be more expensive then the current new 2015 model
One thing for sure no depreciation from dealer when wheeled out ,can't say that for Honda the sp was proof of that but yes was a bit pricey I agree
Saw that Norton at the NEC bike show last year, smartest bike there , extremely jealous, would even p/x the SP2 for one.
Guess it's each to their own.... I think they are cool as and would buy one if I had the cash.... Rich and lucky is the guy you know lol As for 60's tech.... The ohlins and brembo looked pretty new to me
