Guys, I fitted my HM plus SS quickshifter tonight and by the time I'd finished it was dark and wet, I took it for a very quick run out and it's all working fine but the gear change is jerky. Does anyone know which setting will correct this, is it sensitivity or cut time and should I increase or decrease in order to smooth it out?

The instructions don't really tell you how to set it up all.

    TIA

Mate its a kick in the balls trying to set them up I just about got mine bang on then it broke, The new SS is still in the box
I asked customer service when I called about my warranty they said turn the SS function off when you go to set it up get it about bang on then turn it back on, I never got to that stage lol.

I went out did 2 or 3 changes from 2nd to 3rd at the red line, stopped adjusted the kill time then done the same again.
My sensitivity was about 35/40% i think and my kill time was down to 54ms it was about ok at that but then my bike wouldn't start hence the new unit sitting in the box.
Good luck dude just keep adjusting the kill time then the sensitivity dont try to do both at the same time you will just chase the settings all over the place

Sounds like a problem with the loom if the bike won't start, can check this by looping the two pins on the connector that attaches the loom to the controller/strain gauge.

Never known HM not to replace anything that's in warranty.

Settings can differ depending on riding style, rearsets on the bike etc. 50/55 is normally a good starting point.

The harder the bikes rode, the better they are unless it's the GP which is generally smooth across the rev range. SS normally has a wider "smooth" operating range than the plus, but what RPM is it jerky at and any particular gear change?

I think I've pretty much sorted it now guys. I'm at 60% sensitivity and 65 kill time. It won't work at all until I get up the revs but then when it does it's very smooth and fast. I lost a rose joint on my last outing so it's been off road a few days and now I'm going on holiday so I can't play with it for another week but I'll be fine tuning when I get back if the weather is ok and going for a decent run.

Unfortunately it's gonna be next year now before I can get to test it all on track which is mostly what I'm building it for.

Cool, rearsets, rose joints etc can affect it mate. I changed my rearsets and had to amend the settings to get to where it was before the change, silly smooth.
