Right I got a HM quickshifter pluss SS fitted it to the bike worked for about a month then it stopped the bike from running.
So I sent it back to HM they said that they have never come across a problem like this before and sent out a complete new unit

Now my dilemma is this do I fit the HM back onto the bike or do I sell it and get a translogic or even a power commander one?
I lost faith in the brand after it decided to leave me and my bike stranded, as well as making me remove the tank and fairings to fit then remove the thing. But the customer service was bang on and the fact they sent a new unit out with no fee made me think it might be worth a second try.
I did find it difficult to set up the unit so that is kinda putting me off fitting it as well

So thoughts on what to do anyone ????

Sorry mate, just posted on a another thread- thought HM would change it.

Normally If the bike won't run it's a problem with the loom, anything else just means the shifter don't work but normal bike running and gear changes aren't affected.

There's a loop plug that's available that allows the strain gauge and controller to be removed leaving the loom in place, if the looms at fault it won't however do much!!

I've had my original loom on the bike for over three years, over 18k changing from the plus to GP- been fine, but understand your concerns as being stuck somewhere ain't fun.

Yeah they replaced it with no problems at all but when your sitting in the middle of no where with a bike that runs sweet with out the shifter then its a tough one.

Im mega tempted to fit it again @Dave V what settings did your one eventually work with mine would pull a super smooth change every fue changes but i just couldn't nail it down to sweet every time. Are they right in saying the lower the sensitivity on the change the better? the kill time recommended was 60ms but i thought it still lurched at that ? its a ZX10r 2014 if that makes any difference

Mines a GP mate, but have rode and set and a few ss's on various bikes including a zx10.

If you speak to Matt he'll tell you he was never happy with he's, but another pal cookie's zx10 according to him is awesome.

As said, riding style, rearsets and shift rod links can play a part in how they perform but also the consistency of the performance. PM me with your number and I'll bell you to go through the settings and what I set cookies to, the two settings are linked- well at least I think they are.

but testing on your bike would prove nothing if it failed again, only that it could be your bike, therefore testing on my bike is the best option.

I see  but its a new unit been replaced my HM cos the other was faulty so surly it was the unit at fault??? But the other problem could be the loom for the Kawasaki it fits Yamaha as well but not Honda unfortunately....but on the plus side this could be the reason you were looking for to upgrade to the ZX10R :p
