IDGAF about your "agenda", I would just prefer if you spammed someone else's thread and stopped being hypocritical.

Your battery was capable of turning over the engine in the first place so it cant be the battery.
When the ignition is turned on a whirring from the pump can be heard if not then the pumpcould be the culprit. Have only known two blades that needed a new pump. Good hunting JM1

Locate the pump relay and clean up contacts as this is renowned on the 600's

There are two "stages" to the noise when the pump primes, I'm sure I'm only hearing the first one, but it's hard to describe.

My battery on the R1 was more than capable of turning the engine over and would usually fire the engine up eventually however there were a few occasions that it just would not fire up despite the battery seeming to be really strong.............it was still the battery that was the problem tho

The battery has one major function to turn a high compression motor over, the modern superbike have compressions of over 12: requiring not just a healthy voltage but amps as well. On the other hand tested a battery with less than 12 volts yet started the blade proving that the amps was still capable of firing the motor.
The point being first identify the problem rather than hoping a replacement part will cure it.

Agreed masterblader. A lithium battery has been on my list of stuff to get since the stock one left me stranded a few months back anyway though :)

As far as I was concerned it was so I posted what I thought may be helpful on this thread to be told not to as it was hypercritical ???? So go figure

I don't mind saying it was quite upsetting as I was genuinely trying to help all be it I was wrong their was good honest intent behind my first post, but I was told to go forth and multiply so I'm at a loss Tony.

C'mon fellas we are all bikers sometimes expressions via a keyboard is not what was intended. We all have different opinions so a healthy banter is good for a forum as long as it does'nt get out of hand.
All the very best for 2012 and let your bikes do the talking.
