It's much better now it has changed to J&S. Laguna just across the way so between the two you can normally find what you are after!

I was talking with one of the guys who worked there, he used to race in various classes, and he said when he was interviewed for the job, it was very much a bike related interview, rather than a customer service/retail based one, which I think is important in shops such as these, that the people you speak to may have used, or know people who have used the products in real life and can give an opinion. A few people I've seen working in bike shops, have no interest in bikes, and it is just a sales job for them.
My local J&S mostly stocks old Hein Gerick stuff... i had to got to watford to check out the shuberth lids..this store was big in comparison.. I ave also been to a store where the service was poor... one near midlands is a mega store - meant to be huge..
Mark and the team down at Maidstone J&S are awesome. I lost a gift voucher and although they searched on the system couldn't locate a record of it. This weekend and weeks later I get a call out of the blue "Dave, you ain't been in for a bit so thought we'd give you a bell to come and spend some money, btw we've located a copy of your voucher it's under the desk waiting for you" That's a proper retailer who knows how to look after their customers.
