Does anyone know if there is much difference between the various models of the HM Quickshifters ? There is the Lite version the the Plus then the Plus SS. For normal road use would I notice any difference at all if I got the cheap Lite version in comparison to the double the price SS ? Cheers
I like... Thinking ahead... What costs are they? I heard the new BMW's allow you to shift up and down... Do the HM quickshifters allow for this... Was in 2 minds..as I only use my bike on the road..and shift up without the clutch...not sure if a quickshifter would benefit me?
I loved mind on my 899, first time I had used one. Was looking at the Translogic ones but was recommended the HM. Thought there would have been lots of opinions on here as lots have them. C'mon guys reviews please.
I use my bike daily as well as the odd track day, however for me it's more of a grin factor thing rather than the small amount of time you save using it. Make no mistake no matter how fast you think you can clutchless gear change it's still way faster with the QS. I have the HM ss as I didn't get on with the dynojet one and I must say it's not let me down once in nearly two years. Another factor for me is HM are only down the road and do love a nice chat. My two cents would be just get one don't think about it, puts a smile on my face every time I use it.
Hi I've had a translogic quickshifter fitted to my 10 plate blade a couple of weeks ago absolutely amazing no more dipping the throttle makes the bike seam so quick had it fitted by rjs Super Bike at mallory park great job
Don't overlook the healtech quick shifter, cheap and also very good! Can adjust it all via you phone too via the app which is super easy. I have two reviews on my YouTube channel if you want the ins and outs
Ive got the HM SS I never could set it up properly and I hated it. Then it stopped working after about a month of use but HM took it back tested it and sent me a brand new unit with in a week! Now I was going to sell it but I ended up fitting it back to the bike for one last attempt before it went. Now the first day of trying to set it up was a complete failure and it was going to Ebay but lucky for the HM I decided to take the bike out the day later and changed the setting one last time and my eyes were opened bang on it worked and it works excellent. I never thought of putting the sensitivity down so low but nail on head i love the thing now its just so much fun and smooth. I would recommend the HM plus SS remember the loom is the only thing along with the shift rods that you need to swap it from bike to bike. My loom fits Kawasaki and Yamaha that as well as the customer service is worth the extra money in my book, if I was to buy again I would be looking for the GP model only because I like going up the scale. Remember second hand Ebay ect is cheaper and with the looms being available and cheep its defiantly worth a look into. For instance the ones that are listed as yamaha are cheaper sometimes than the kawasaki ones due to everyone owning and racing the ZX10R. As for are they compatible for up and down shifts @RepsolSam yes mine can do both at the same time as long as you have the auto bliper that is. As for are they required for the road no but neither is a 200bhp super bike over say a BMW GS but we all own them not because we need them but because it makes us happy and well we can. Great fun pinned while you change up the gear ill be keeping mine
Looking ar the Healtech it does not look like any of the others. It just looks like a collar, how can that assist the gear change ?
No, they don't have an auto blip function. And they don't really save much time on the road, but they are really fun! It's a great feeling on road and track coming out of corner pinned and still leant and banging up the box without rolling off!
The new Healtech sensor goes inline on the shift rod on the blade. It was on the gear shaft which worked but wasn't quite as good. Yes the sensor looks odd but works great! Plus firmware updates work automaticity just flags up there's an update when you start the app and asks if you would like to push it to the device. Super easy
I have both a HM ss and a HM lite. HM ss was fitted to my road gsxr, then to my track blade HM lite is now fitted to my road gsxr. Is the HM ss better than the lite.... yes, is it twice as good. no.... The lite is superb value for money, it works a treat and if i'd have never used a HM ss before i wouldn't have known there is another QS out there marginally better. However the SS model has more adjust-ability, kill time, sensitivity, options to quickshift in both directions if
I'm torn between the HM Plus SS & the Translogic Intellishift (plug and play) quick shifter. I've heard bad things about HM's cheaper models from the 'lite' up to the 'plus'. However (apparently) after spending the cash the GP and the Plus SS is worth the money. I've been told to aim for a Translogic, although this was only from 1 guy who owns one on his GSXR and works for the tuning garage I will be using. I haven't heard any good or bad things about Translogic. Both QS' are the same price but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light in order for me to make a choice and to also get my money's worth.
Not going to be able to add much here to help decide between the 2, but all I can say is that I had a HM Plus on my R6 race bike and ran it for 2 1/2 years. It was superb and never missed a beat, didn't cause any issues and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one.
This is great, getting opinions and experience's is what I'm looking for to makes sure I'm not buying something to break or not work peoperly after a year especially when I'm paying over £400 for it haha Thanks for the input.
Ive got the SS and it was a proper nightmare to set up I was literally one day away from removing it from my bike and selling it then I done some extreme changes to the settings and it worked mint. See the pros the HM has over the translogic is that from what I can see is the translogic is not adjustable in kill times it stays at 60ms then auto reduces its self when needed but the HM unit can be fully changed sensitivity wise and kill time from the start so if 60 is too much then you can make it 55 for instance then the SS unit can also auto reduce that slightly if needed so on paper a more capable unit itself.
I should be fitting the superlite to my bike this evening. It's not got all the adjustment, but will be enough for what I want it for. Won't be able to give you any feedback till it stops bloody raining though!
