I may be in the minority here (what's new) but Rossi was wrong to do what he did, he has been an ambassador for Moto GP for many years, but I think this incident will mar his reputation for years, OK Marquez had a point to prove, he was being aggressive but not in my view dangerous. Rossi's reaction to Marquez (hand gestures) on the slow down lap at Phillip Island was coridial and looked to me as though Rossi had enjoyed the race. Thursdays press conference got very personal, with all sorts of accusations being made , and from then on the entire situation has worsened. I just feel so disappointed that Rossi has resorted to knocking Marquez off his bike to prove a point. That's my view, I know many won't agree with it.
There is a video on youtube from Rossi fan club regarding the same move made by the doc to marquez. Worth watch it as it shows what marquez is made of. I support Rossi all the way!!
Its a Sad day for MotoGP, but I am amazed how blinkered the Rossi fans can be, seems the guy can do no wrong in their eyes? so much so that social media seem to be a wash with Photoshops of Marquez and Lorenzo as gay lovers but hardly any photoshops of Rossi doing the bad deed? its awash with debates, mostly from church of VR, who are now totally pointing the finger at MM, they watch the footage over and over and still say, its was all MM's fault?? Just shows what blind devotion will do...its like a Rossi Religion "And what Religion are you sir", "ermm me, errr I'm Church of VR", he can do NO wrong, Amen
regardless of who caused what in the incident, it was more the fact that Lorenzo cried and stamped his feet to have his "team mate" punished, that for me is just wrong, wee prick in my eyes. But if that is what he wants to do to win a championship that is up to him i suppose
well we has also won more races than VR But anyway its far from over if Rossi does turn up, I'm sure by lap 3 he will be up to 10th at least, and from their he can do well maybe? should be an interesting race at least
Kinda what I was saying. Looks from this angle like Marquez turns into Rossi and Rossi tries to stop him from leaning onto him with this knee.
The fact remains that Rossi ran him totally off the racing line on purpose, looking over his shoulder at him (to make it worse by proving the point) and thereby caused him to crash out, whether the foot was an accident or not only they know for sure, MM say VR kicked his front brake, VR said he didn;t, but by doing what he did he took out MM, if he had carried on racing instead of pissing about like that he might have beat MM or not, but now we will never know? but it is meant to be RACING not Grand Theft Auto!! Thats why he deseverd to have the penalty!
If you've got a wasp buzzing you, you swat it. Racing is entertainment. I think some of you guys take it too seriously.
Tbh, I think at the time of the incident VR had made his mind up to teach MM a lesson. VR by his own admission deliberately moves across to push MM to the outside of the track in order to slow him down. Nothing wrong with that IMO, it's part of racing, however, VR deliberately slows, takes a long look at MM as much to say 'I can play games too' and MM decides not to be intimidated and continues to try and race ie lean for the bend and accelerate. At this point point it seems to me VR lost the plot as MM was not taking notice of him and takes him out in a fit of anger. MM had no choice at this stage other than to lean as VR had forced him to the edge of the track, there was nowhere else to go other than brake and let VR get away. VR could easily have got around that corner on the racing line and stayed ahead IMO instead of doing what he did. I would like to think that VR regrets his actions and not just because of the championship.Everyone F..ks .up sometimes and even VR is human. I just don't think anyone should get away with this type of action, regardless of who they are. I still think VR was more than lucky to keep the points.
On a lighter note, if they change the rules to make it a contact sport I reckon Crutchlow might have a chance.
I can see this debate going on longer than the MotoGP season, if Social media today is anything to go by, but it would seem that MM and JL have come of worst, funny world we live in lol I bet those Repsol owners with 93 painted on the front are getting worried about parking up anywhere right now
I saw it on ITV4 tonight from a different and better angle, and it looked to me like MM was pushing into VR, and he held his knee out to stop MM colliding with his bike, which seems the sensible thing to do. If you were walking down the street and you saw a person about to bump into you, a hand would instinctively come up to stop them/push them away. No different here. And I think to look back over your shoulder to see if the bellend was going to try another dangerous pass, or shove, would also be a very natural thing to do. I've only very recently taken a slight interest in Moto GP, so not anybodies fan boy, although I do think Lorenzo comes across as a cock
Lorenzo cemented himself as a utter twat when he moved onto HJC helmets for the money not the safety as expressed by the Yamaha head mechanic, would be a shame if his helmet failed him again on the last race
Rossi admitted in the interview after the race he wanted to come to stop and tell Marc to back off. The guy has lost his head and needs to retire. The commentator put it right "he is seeing ghosts" he's making things up in his head and he believes it. He deserves to lose this championship. Can't wait to watch MotoGP with no Rossi
