I know it's not bike related but hoping someone can advise me on what to do.

Basically I had a leak in the upstairs bathroom which made its way through the kitchen celling. Not too much damaged just celling, floor few electricals possibly some of the cupboards depending on how they dry out.
The insurance company insurance company has asked me to get prices together for the electrical bits (microwave, toaster, George foreman etc)
Problem is they don't seem to sell some of the models any more so how to I price them?

They are not top of the range stuff but not bottom of the range so do I just pick some mid range stuff and give those prices?
Does it have to be the same make?

    Any help appreciated

On a new for old policy provided you don't take the p*** you should be ok for replacement appliances of equal spec as the ones that are being replaced, try to match what you had with a similar spec replacement and you should be OK.
They may ask for receipts for the existing appliances

Cheers guys, one other question as I can't find an answer on the net, my helmet was on the side, it had a few bits of plaster ontop of it which I don't think would of hurt it but it was also sat in a lot of water.
I know they are made to use in the rain but it was sat in the puddle and absorbed the water from the bottom up!
Will it be ok do you think if I just dried it out or will it have hidden damage?

your bike helmet should be classed as clothing and covered on the policy.

Worth putting a claim in for it - was the water 'dirty' or clean that came through the ceiling.
Chance is the claims handler will have no clue as to bike helmets and you can say 'it sat and absorbed water for some time and no longer fits correctly and I am unsure if the structural integrity may have been compromised by this'

I would just list the helmet as a damaged item and see what happens, they may consider the helmet as a personal effect/item, but again be realistic on replacement cost.

Martin, you've never eaten anything that came out of a George Foreman grill...

They'll see right through that one.
