About this time of year, I start machinating on just what the smallest distance I can cover and still warrant using a vehicle rather than Shank's Pony, just so I can say, "No point taking the car, I'll nip up on the bike." and still make it sound a valid argument rather than a ploy for a fix.

"We need some milk. I'll pop up the shop. No point taking the car, I'll nip up on the bike."

"Dustbin day tomorrow. I'll go and sort the recycling and put it at the end of the drive. No point taking the car, I'll nip up on the bike."

"I forgot to stick this letter in the postbox. I'll have to go back. No point taking the car, I'll nip up on the bike."

All these things are within 500m of the house. Add the 20 minutes togging up and down, getting the bike on and off the optimate and the garage stand, and I'm getting about 25 minutes bike time, everytime.

    Pretty cool, huh...

I can always hear my bike shouting from the garage "Take me out I want a thrashing ". I am a mere woman and am programmed to do as I am told, hence, you see me ride all year round !

before I went away for a few days with the family I took the Blade for a ride to fill the tank up last Friday. Cleaned her and ACF50 added then covered. Hoping not for the last time but most likely the last ride until next Spring. Never a good feeling
