meanwhile on the isle of man loads of people drove at speeds well in excess of 150 mph … none were classed as criminals and none were arrested because the isle of man police are allowed to use their brains.

Ok it's to fast but it's not like he posted in on YouTube police found it on his phone! They can't prove where or when it was taken or if it was him even driving from that clip... Don't think it deserves a prison sentence

I'm guessing these are the clips released to the media and that there's more specific evidence.

Mental note - try not to make it on to the list at the bottom!!

so 28 months in prison , yet the truck driver that wiped out the bus queue in scotland due to lying to his employer about not having any medical problems such as passing out when driving ,has just resigned from his driving job this week .. and people wonder why nobody has any faith in justice .
one case is "might have happened but didn't" the other case is "did happen " but got off scott free .

I doubt that all of the facts are known or have been reported here. Firstly he was arrested on an unrelated matter & consequently his phone analysed....that may have been related to serious offences. Secondly, once found guilty, any previous convictions will have a bearing on sentencing....so call me cynical but if Mr Davis is the sort of chap who goes to church every Sunday & adapts stray kittens as a hobby...I'll bare my ar*e in debenhams window ;)

Speeding convictions are the least of his worries. Let's just say that he doesn't go to Sunday school.

ok, but if you were up in court for any other crime such as burglary or g.b.h . the courts can not take these offences into account before sentencing .. yet they are allowed to bring up all your old motoring convictions in court .. i.e. if you have a job , are generally a good chap who does not steal your mode of transport but occasionally rides above the speed limit on a country road and not on 30mph housing estates.

You are off to prison / going to lose your job / home etc . yet if you are some habitual offender, you will be let off because you have had a poor up bringing . i.e your parents didn't give a poo what you were doing ,you will get a £100 fine (paid for by the d.s.s,) 3 hours community service ,and no criminal record because it might jeopardise your job prospects.
I see young kids riding around on nicked scooters with no helmets on outside schools and the police not stopping them , yet they will pull somebody speeding with a helmet on because they know the chap has probably got a job and will stop rather than do a runner .
By the way is there a confirmed date for the meadowhall viewing ?

Oooo it's very late on wine o clock weekend to be discussing legal ramifications, however... previous convictions are taken into account before sentencing whether it's burglary gbh or any other criminal offence. I think the issue here was its probably not a case of Mr law abiding motorist getting a bum*ing from the legal system, there was more to it.....
Times for Meadowhall will be confirmed subject to ticket demand :D
