Right I have lot of choice and unsure what I want to do.

Still have a few more test rides I want to take including the new R1 before I get anything next Spring.

I was in my local Bike shop yesterday and looking about. Came across a Busa. Always loved the looks (Yes Marmite bike I know).

One choice I have is possibly Get a 1299S, Sell the blade and spend lots of cash on the Ducati. Lovely bike and really enjoyed the test ride. They have them for about 16-17k secondhand.

But I was thinking a 13 plate Busa, low miles and well looked after for 8k. Keep the blade for track. And have 2 bikes for less than buying a 1299S. Then I have a lovely bike for blating over Europe, and going out for a weekend or beat for a day with mates. And a bike for track.

    Choice choice

Anyone had a Busa and thoughts?

Definitely 2 bikes but would choose a busa for my road bike. Awful things.

Size and weight of a whale, fast but not in the same league looks wise as the Ducati.

Get yourself a K5 Gixer for the road and keep the Blade for track. That's my pennies worth.

Sounds like a good plan if you like the look of the busa, I can't say I have owned one but I've ridden one of the earlier ones. Personally It suited me super comfy and silky smooth and very easy to ride very fast.....just never did it for me aesthetically.

Know a dude with a tricked up one, been a few years since I've seen him ride it but holy shit the bed was it a wepon....

In the right hands, no problem for a sports bike....

Europeon mile muncher... Awesome! Get it on the technica stuff, be even worse than a superbike....

All depends on what you want it for really....

In my opinion as good as they are they have a somewhat rose tinted following these days.
I sold a K5 to buy the Blade and thought that the lack of midrange would be noticeable....it wasn't!
The Blade was there or thereabouts as good, the handling was better, the brakes are better. When you consider that you can get an 08 Blade for a similar price to a clean K5 I think the Blade is a better buy.

My K5 was mint and had 10 Blade/CB1000R callipers fitted and overhauled forks, I took out a 14 plate Gixer 1000 as I was gonna upgrade it. The bike had big piston forks and whilst the midrange wasn't quite as good as it's predecessor (the K5 was not THAT much better), the handling was definitely better (the BP forks were brilliant) so much as to make me pull up within less than a mile of getting back on my K5 as I thought I had a slow puncture!!! The Brembo brakes were on par with the Blade Tokicos and I could have gotten a pre-registered L4 for around £8500!!! For £8500 you couldn't buy a 1 yr old Blade......and you could tour on an L4 Gixer without any problems.

The same can be said for a lot of bikes. The 2 early blades I owned were very capable bikes but as per the scorn heaped on them back in the day, they were so good they were boring!

Could also do what I have done.
Blade for road and Blade for the track.
Least you know them inside out and parts are easy to come by.
