hi all I'm looking at buying a 2006 /2007 blade anything bad I need to know I do like the 08 but someone said they like a bit of oil
Not all 08's burn oil !! I've had a 10 plate & 12 plate never burnt a drop Except on the Isle of Man where they used 1 litre of oil in a 1000 thrashed miles,which as it happens was the same amount of oil my mates GSXR 1000k6 used over the same miles !! And 04-07 suffer from rectifier/regulator problems Oh and welcome to the forum
I have a 2011 model which I'm told uses oil, however I have never lost a drop in 9000 miles? If you want a RR 5 06 plate SimonRR is selling a well looked after bike?
I've had RR6, RR8, RRC and RRE - all have used a bit of oil - but 2008 didn't use any more than the others.
My 08 has done 2k and it hasn't used a drop since its last service. There are a few oil burners but the majority are fine
btw some 08-09 where also recalled for the crankshaft U can easily check your bike from the V.I.N. forgot NO abs version !!!!
I have a 2006 blade which I've owned since new. Currently got over 48000 miles on the clock and the only problem I had was a radiator which developed a leak last year. Apart from that it's been regularly serviced and has been faultless. I do trackdays on it so does use some oil but nothing excessive.
They don't all burn oil mate , mine has been fine no top ups between services, all good. Exuptoy is selling his on here , if it hasn't sold by now, great bike, great price , worth a look bud.
Yeah my RR5 doesn't use any oil, what is the problem with 08 bikes that I hear people talk about? Mine is going PX for a new Yamaha R1, but can sell private if wanted?
My 2003 blade uses no oil... it's on 48,000 miles - 18,000 covered with me over the past 18months when I come to get a newer bike it'll be another blade!!! Love it
Yeah mine is up for sale (cheers @kirkwall32 ) but as of the morning I'm back offshore for 2 weeks. I am in conversations with a guy interested in a deal for a 13 Street Triple R but as yet that is the only interest I have. (Time of year!) Be home 11th Dec if you haven't found the right one by then. Here's mine. Five other RR8's in there cheaper than mine and all over 20k miles. 11700 on my 09 RR8, full Honda history and I'm the second owner. I've had both 7th and 8th generation blades (an RR7 and an RR10 respectively) and for me; as good as the RR7 is, the RR10 is just that bit superior in every area.
