Does anyone know of any pay as you go sim cards that do not require a top up every month? need a sim for the alarm...and will send txt msgs when it goes off..

I currently use a giffgaff sim to keep hold of an old number. Make sure you make a call/text every so often though as most operators will cancel a sim if it isn't used in a certain timeframe.
Most carriers still have a old style tariff where you top it up and use credit for everything. O2 (gif gaff uses o2 network), three (3) all defo have old style tariffs available so I expect orange/ T-Mobile and vodaphone to have similar. With O2 you just need to go here order a bigtalker tariff sim for free top it up to register card and job done.
Managed to get hold of giff gaff..topped up £7.50.. Let's see how it goes.. There was an option to renew top up every month automatically...but it did not say how long it will work for without top up.
It used to be about 6 months, but I don't think that was a top up needed, just to be used for a call or text. The monthly top ups on most SIMS are to give you extra credit/text for free, as opposed to topping it up whenever you want.
