I have no idea about exhausts for the blade. I'm going to check out a blue flame exhaust fitted to a bike on the weekend. I have noticed the Yoshi R77 is frequently mentioned. I saw there is also a R-11, is there any difference? I do like the look of the taylormade exhaust but have read about quality issues. Any help is appreciated
what year is your RR & why do you want to change it? Rust? Then the closest is akro which does one with O2 fitting and exhaust valve but much lighter. This is closest to original Otherwise Yoshi which is also available with O2 fitting OR anything else but be prepared for the headache of sorting out the fuelling and the extra money you may have to spend. And the ugly look (bar taylormade
I like the look of the Yoshi R77. Nothing wrong with the standard exhaust, just want something a bit louder. I have a 2008 blade
The OEM can be made louder just by disconnecting the servo, dont need to declare to insurance and no problems with fueling (unless you had them already!)
I disconnected the servo on mine and happy for now with the difference, can't justify £500 just yet for a new exhaust set up. If you haven't done this yet, I would give it a try, takes minutes to do.
I ran without the servo for a year and it ran great, then put on a PCV then it ran really sweet! The OEM can then started to rust pretty bad, not just the main body but also where it meets the headers to the point that when I removed it, it fell apart!. Got a Yoshi off here very reasonably but it ran like a sack of harleys, loopy idle between 1000- 1400 rpm! flat spots, snatchy you name it, I had it. Ran much better with baffle but IMO was actually quieter than OEM without the servo. Got a custom map, better but still not as smooth as OEM and also much thirstier!. Now running an Autotune and POD-300, Result : back to OEM performance, only difference louder and wallet several hundred sheets lighter. Would I do it again hell yeah! Car drivers, motorcyclist alike give way regardless if I actually want to pass or not, it looks the nuts, that noise howl on the throttle and my fav the burble and cracks on the over run - heaven
I just bought a growler black edition for the 08 Blade, do you reckon it will have the same hole so I can buy a new O2 sensor for it or will the stock do the job OR does it come with one? (wishful thinking)
That's great thanks, do I just put my existing O2 sensor back in which I removed to get the stock can off?
You can use the OEM sensor to screw back into the Racefit exhaust but you really need to run a Power Commander with this pipe which means using an O2 eliminator . This plugs in where the sensor connects to the loom on the left side of the fairing.
Just looking at the exhaust considering doing the flap mod. Now is the flap missing or does it shut when the bike is started?
