Hi Gary I think some mods are essential like rad guard, crash bungs, and venture shield M3 paint protection! I've got quite a few mods on my Blade I like to think tastefully done but I'm so glad I had the essentials recently as there is minimally damaged to her after my recent off! Thanks to my R&G crash bungs and cotton reels! I've now taken my moding to all new levels mate! It's a personal thing! All titanium don't you know
Sure regs says summit about the number plate has to be out in line/level with the rear tyre, similar to a bumper line really. It's a really old reg same with the rear reflector that goes missing with the old number plate holder but red reflector must be visible from rear of the bike so most folk opt for a red stick on button type. It's kinda redundant tho as the whole number plates reflective these days!
Totally agree. Need to be able to convert it back to standard when it comes time to sell. Dealers seem to prefer standard bikes over those with different cans, levers, cowls, etc. Never seem to get back what you invested in them.
It's all down to personal preference ... After jumping off a completely standard bike and on to mine the difference is massive!! Far more agile and light on its feet and also feels far more responsive than standard bike! Can't be doing with mods that dont have a purpose! everything I've done has had an impact on its ability to be a better bike....
Speak for yourself. lol I bought most of my bits used from here and ebay. When I stripped the bike to sell it I got back around £1500 for the bits. Probably made around £180.
Sorry should have clarified - Dealers never offer anywhere near what you paid for them. Your right if you strip them off then you can always sell privately. I've had some good deals myself buying 2nd hand.
Forgot also ......... Dynojet Pod-300. Gilles gear selector rod support. Carbon seat infills. Pair Valve removal blank plates. Sato Street Hooks. Like others here, bought some secondhand off here or Ebay and always sell easily when I decide to sell the bike.
I like to keep my bikes standard. I only modify if I don't like something. My RR5 was almost perfect except for the standard very quiet exhaust (with ear plugs I couldn't hear the engine, felt like an electric bike - needless to say I didn't like it). A Micron end can is the only mod.
Everything is subjective, I know, but in my humble opinion, the best looking 3rd party exhaust for the Blade.
Why thank you kind sir Leo Vince are selling a limited run of them again Ken! They stopped selling them shortly after I got mine so they started to fetch a handsome sum for a nice 2nd hand one! Now a new one is a £100 cheaper than I paid for mine 5yrs ago! But they do make an awesome sound saying that the new ones have a primary silencer in the link pipe so they'll probably be a bit quieter than mine
What would have been the point of continuing to sell them after you'd bought one. That sale brought it the pinnacle of infamy. After that it would have been all down hill...
I personally never leave anything standard, i like tinkering, changing bits, shopping for a good deal on parts and having something that's a little different to everyone else. I've never gone too far with anything I don't think, usually down to funds. Get a HM Quickshifter and a can, best mods ever!!!
I would like to fit an exhaust but reading about potential problems has put me off - eml, fuelling etc
