    Hi guys,

Quick Question on my Brembo callipers - I think the wear pattern is a bit odd - should the two light-grey coloured spacers be removed or is the wear pattern normal ?

    Thanks,

Yes remove spacers! Replace pads if wear is significant. How long have they been like that? Worth checking the discs are ok too.

    As above.
Should feel a decent amount more braking force after that lol

Thanks for the replies - my first time doing this so still learning !

I did an 8 lap race around the Buriram circuit ( the WSBK track in Thailand) and the front brake was fading quite badly towards the end which I thought shouldn't really happen. My set up is Brembo RCS lever/master cylinder, Goodridge braided hoses, Brembo M4 calipers & EBC GPFAX pads.

    So, what I'll do...

    1. Remove spacers ( possibly need to shorten bolts)
    2. Check brake pads, replace if necessary.
    3. Check discs to make sure no noticable step.
    4. Change brake fluid.

    Thanks again.

You should have got bolts with the M4's that are meant for the bike without the spacers

Thanks for the usefull pics - I bought mine 2nd hand and they didn't come with any bolts ( the price you pay ( or don't pay...)) and the tip about the 04/05 bolts - which according to the internet are 57mm long.

If I have to use the current bolts, I'll cut off the thickness of the spacer.

If you are cutting any of the thread off. Just make sure that you have enough thread left and don't end up screwing the shank of the bolt into the threaded hole.

Can't you put the spacers under the bolt head?

    Thought I'd give an update....

After working way too much, finally got the time and motivation to get back to do some things on the bike. I removed the pads and they had a pretty big step where the one part of the pad had not been sitting on the disk. Not an expert on brake pads but am I right in saying that the real shiney part on the old pads mean that they have overheated ?

I will be replacing the brake fliud as well.

The spacers have been removed and I checked the bolts & thread lengths etc and there are no issues.
