Hi, Just got a headstock stand for my 2006 Blade. The section holding the lifting pin is horizontal . It looks like the horizontal section will hit the horn if used? Can't try it out yet as I'm waiting on bobbins for the rear stand. Is this a known problem? Tried flipping the horn around but it fouls on the headstock. Also looks like it's going to be very close to the underside of the front fairing. Will post here once I try it out. Just had a thought. The angle of the upper section is going to depend on the angle of the pin and headstock hole. So might all be ok.
Looks like end of the bar will be doing the lifting due to the shoulder of the pin sitting low? Is this right? Never used a headstock stand so would appreciate any input. Thanks.
My headstock stand is similar, but not the exact same model as yours. I have to remove the horn, the horn trim panel and the nose cone in order to safely fit the headstock on my RR7. I could probably get away without removing the nose, but it's too close for comfort so I don't risk it.
Thanks for the reply. looking at the other pins supplied with my stand, it must be the end of the stand that lifts the bike as one pin is 18mm and shoulder is less that 1mm so can't see it designed to sit on that. Wish I had gone for this type now.
Very similar to the one I've got and clears the horn ok (road legal track bike). Slightly better view here.
Thanks for the pics and info. With the stand I have, it looks like the end of the bar will be in contact with the lip around recessed section at the hole in the headstock. Would have preferred more contact on the flat surface around the hole. This is all pie in the sky till I get the rear bobbins delivered. Was just offering the stand up to the bike to see if I think it going to do the job. Back to work for a few days now so will try it in anger when I'm off. Thanks again

Could you not buy a few big washers to go over the pin and build up the shoulder length moving the bikes headstock away from the end of the stand???
Thanks, I gave that a thought but not much length will be left on the pin and it measures at 12.6mm not 13mm so is a rattling fit. Going to get a pin made up that's about 10mm longer up to the shoulder. Might make the shoulder square and put a couple of big greased up washers on it to let the bars move easily and spread the load. Just need to make sure it can take the bending force when lifting and holding the bike. Hopefully 13mm steel can take it.
Had the RR6 up on the stands today. Rear is spot on , front did the job with horn removed and front fairing fitted. Pin is not the best fit and not very deep in the headstock. Still going to get a modified pin made up.
How about getting one of the larger ones lathed to fit, or a sleeve made up to go over one of the smaller ones?
It's length I'm short of, an extra 10mm up to the shoulder should clear the horn and make things sit better due to the recessed area around the hole in the headstock. Hopefully my man will make it up for me in the new year. Thanks for the suggestion.
Modified horn bracket and longer pin. Is it ok for the centre section of the headstock to be taking all the load? Going to open up the hole in some 35mm repair washers to 13mm to sit on the shoulder of the pin and spread the load.
Yes. The old one would have if it was long enough. You should see a spider stand lifting a whole bike with 2 of those on their sides. Yours is pushing just the front of the bike up.
