Clutch kit and HRC spring was mentioned to me when asking for a slipper clutch. Could anyone shed any light on this kit for me, like have you done it? better than a STM/Sigma? Where can i buy one? easy to fit? I did ask the person who mentioned it but so far not come back as yet. Ta
Yeah thanks, ive seen their site but no 'kit' as such. Also after someone who had done the 'mod' for some feed back.
Thats weird, when i fitted one to the gsxr it was night and day, best mod i did. Really not a good mod you reckon then. Is that on track @Scott ? Never really in to blipping the throttle so maybe thats a factor?
I have a spare Sigma clutch from Honda Racing and will be used with HRC Clutch plates. I can't think they would use this setup if it wasn't good?
Best thing I did to a Gixxer to. But the blade not really I would be happy with standard. If was me I'd save the money. Only got one because of the Gixxer experience
I suspect its the same clutch basket (as the blade runs a slipper anyway)just different weighted springs to allow you to tune how much clutch slip you want, more or less. also the HRC friction plates run less friction material than standard to give more slip aswell, but obviously don't last as long
As in its not fitted yet. This link will give you an idea of the kit clutch and plates. http://world.honda.com/HRC/products/partslist/cbr1000rr/2012CBR1000RR_E.pdf
doesn't really tell you anything though does it?,that is basically the same parts diagram for a standard clutch aint it? like I said, will just be different weight spring plat/primary/secondary pressure plates+HRC friction plates.
The only main differences in looks from the fiche diagrams is the race kit ditches one of the clutch return springs.....now whither that single Spring is stronger or weaker or same in resistance can't tell from the diagrams! The race kit also changes the actual ramp gates that allow the slipper to operate but again what the changes are might only be visible with oem and race sitting side by side! One thing I will mention tho is don't start removing the clutch unit unless you have a spare clutch nut as it gets destroyed at the stake point when it's loosened off and the nut also appears to stretch the threads so unadviable to reuse! Nut costs about £6 from dealer and is also required if you are only changing the clutch plates so it is worth mentioning!
