I knew it was worth the money, but I have no patience! http://www.cmcbikes.com/used-motorcycle/2009-honda-cbr1000rr-for-sale-5690d97f15413
What did you let it go for then? That's cheap for CMC btw, they normally put a grand on anything they take in from what I have seen over the years. At least you get a lifetime warranty with them, worth the extra dollar right
Took £5k for it in PX against the Street Triple R but as I've said, I have no patience. Couldn't shift it for £5500 private though. Time of year I suppose!
Sorry but i wouldn't pay £6k for that bike.... think you done alright mate. just cos they have it up for that doesn't mean they will sell it.
I paid £5495 for my 08 in November with 12k on the clock, bike was completely standard and they serviced it and put a new mot on it. I did look at this before I joined the forum but I hate paying the bridge tolls
Like I said, CMC generally seem to put 1k on top of whatever they get a bike px for. Someone will no doubt buy it, they seem to be doing well so clearly people are willing to pay that sort of money. 5k for yours is ok and you got the bike you wanted so all good.
That maybe so fella. Ironically I px'd it with Bevans in Cardiff against the STR and was reasonably happy with what I got for it (it cost me £5490 last Feb and I fitted Braided lines, 10 plate exhaust and shock, Motografix decals and got the wheels and footrests powdercoated and sold a couple of bits separately. So to take a hit of £750 after about 10 months motoring and in the middle of winter is not bad in my book). Within 24 hours of taking it in, CMC bought a load of stock including mine for their recently acquired Newport store (the old South Wales Superbikes) so I reckon Bevans probably made a couple of hundred on it for 1 day of owning it and CMC are looking for at least a £500 lift on it. They do however hold the advantage of being able to offer finance on it!
Aye, I'm happy and have already spent over a grand on the STR! I have pretty much the whole Carbon FBR catalogue going on it when I get home this week!! I'll pop up a pic once complete.
And a warranty, and take the risk of it having being sat there for months? Personally as said, and by yourself looks like you done ok out of it... I'd be happy with your new deal as let's face it, triumphs are way cooler than the blade
You trying to make yourself even MORE popular on here? Haha, probably easier to shift than a litre sports anyway. In all seriousness though, I really enjoyed the Blade and wouldn't hesitate to get another if I was in the market for another litre bike, although the big Suzook GSX1000R seems like a laugh although may not have the character of the STR, although with the K5 engine that may be up for debate..
Always take the litre naked with super bike engines with a pinch of salt as usually de tuned tbh, but does look a good bike.... My blades been mint, loved it on the road and been good to me on track... For the money it's prob been best value bike I've ever had. But my triumph on the road put a smile back on my face for road riding if I'm honest....
As said, just cause they are asking that doesn't mean some sucker will pay it! Sometimes Sales Reps get carried away offering good prices for used stock just to shift new! I've just been given £9K for an 'Old Model' Gen 4 ZX10 against the new un. Prior to that I p/x'd my 2013 Blade (at 18 months and 4K miles) for the 'about to go' ZX and got £8350 for it when I only paid £10.5K new. 18 months later and despite dropping the price steadily from the original asking ticket of £9.5K it's still on the books and is now being offered at £55 less than they gave me and it's not turned a wheel for 18 months! lol http://www.robinsonsrochdale.co.uk/used-bike-detail/?id=25246&slug=Honda-HONDA-CBR1000-RR-2013 (13)
Lol at some of the Pix of yours that clearly show they were taken indoors in the showroom as U can clearly see the reflection of the suspended ceiling lights in the tank polish, yet a super imposed 'county road scene' has been photo shopped in! Some Peeps eh?
I don't think it's photoshopped. I think they have a studio area with a black floor and country scene on the wall. It looks clever though. The Trumpet does make me laugh if at speeds a little slower. It's like a big BMX and the airbox noise and sound of the triple engine is addictive!!
Just re-reading my post above and before anyone gets the wrong end of the stick here....... This.... I was not in any way inferring that JV is disliked, just that he was right! lol I feel like I am down with the kids owning the ST and I've never been cool before!!
lol.... it's fine i know its true! ha but owning is triumph is cool... they make the coolest t shirts, sock, and coffee mugs on the planet! ha although my dad now thinks i'm proper cool... "finally rid of that jap crap and on a real mans bike boy...i'm proud of you!" which in itself... is so not cool lol
I followed your thread a while back when you were "tinkering" with the blade, nice write up by the way. I sold my blade and went down the naked route too and although not a Triumph I loves me Brutale 1090rr and it makes me chuckle ALL DAY LONG
