Well..I had emailed the branch manager about my issues..to which he never replied..

So sent this to Honda customer services the other week, they are investigating..will call them in the morning and add this to the list..

Just piss poor service from my dealer!

Can it not be bought later? At all?

    It's a Honda - you don't need an extended warranty ;)

Seriously though - I've had 4 Blades and all have been 100% reliable.

    That's reassuring...or is it..lol

Other question I guess is...who has made warranty claims on a new blade since buying it new?

Cars I know have all sorts of issues, specially towards the end of the warranty periods..were dealers try to get everything fixed as they get a kick back..

    Are bikes different?

Last two ZX10's I've bought I managed to get the extended 4 year warranty thrown in FREE with the purchase negotiations.

This is normally a £400 cost for the extra 2 years! :D

As it happens it's all been a waste so far as not kept a Bike longer than 18 months!

Mine was 2 yrs at Christmas and the local Honda dealer Cresent had it in for a health check to see if all ok before warranty up the supply dealer did tell me about the extended at the time , its on 6k miles and just used as a toy , i didn't take out the exstension as maybe off to Saudi Arabia to work and will be home every 10 to 12 weeks but intend to keep the bike to ride and look forward to on my return home,

Had a 600RR7 from new for 6 years and my Blade now 3 years old and neither needed any remedial work. Doble did offer me extended warranty when I bought the Blade but didn't see the point in it. I did however take out Gap insurance as I thought it more likely that some thieving b**tard would be away with it or i'd write it off:D

To answer your 'other question' I have made claims on a warranty on my 11 model blade.
one was for the awful ABS system, which was more for the Labour work needed to sort my issues
and the other was a claim for the pee poor standard exhaust paint rusting away after one winter.
Both were approved by Honda and in the case of the exhaust a whole brand new section supplied and fitted.

That bikes long gone now and I chose non ABS version and paid extra for an Akropovic system on its replacement. Not had a single thing wrong with the 2014 anniversary model i bought and she's just rolled over the 10,000 mile so Im happy!!

personally I would not bother., Had my blade since new (11 plate) and never had a issue with it,

Same with my Speed triple and Fazer before that

Unlike the above, I bought the extended warranty within 30 days, my dealer even gave me a leaflet with the bike when I picked it up. (2014 model) Advantage is the 3 year European breakdown cover, so makes the warranty quite cheap really, and I negotiated a 25% discount on the price of it.
As far as issues, new can to replace the rusting original, 2 new mirrors to replace the corrosion on them and a new rear shock, all in year 1.

So all in all a good purchase IMO. Obviously all depends on the mileage you do, the higher mileage, the more likely things might fail.

That 30 day after registration would appear to be a CLOS. I bought mine (An extra 2 years) just before my original 2 years expired. All signed, sealed etc. Letter from Honda etc. No worries.

I bought it because I have ABS and would rather not have to pay for the bleed every time I take it in and complain that the ABS has thrown wobbly again... Already paid for itself... I had to have the brakes done again about 30 days after it started.
