Has anyone fitted these and if so what alterations are required to the wiring etc, I know some after market led indicators require resistors or relay upgrades. Are they as good quality as they look.
Rizoma gear is top quality. Better than most. I have a fair bit of their stuff on my road bike. You can wire in the resistors or I find it better just to buy a LED relay and be done with any wiring milarky.
Fitted these and they are indicator porn imo! Real easy to fit and they come with the resistors you need too. Only criticism if any is the resistors are quite long and take some hiding or boot space lol I love mine and nice and bright in this murky weather too!
Any time you remove ordinary incandescent bulb indicators for led ones will require either load resistors or an led safe relay unit to be fitted or the indicator blink speed will be too fast.
Thanx Colin, I presume the relays are easy to get hold of? I think on a 2010 they are located under the dash/fairing area? Ps. The PCV Is working just great my friend
I never liked using the load resistors for a couple of reasons one is the size makes them hard to store away in an already small seat storage unit and second was the heat the resistors can generate can cause issues unless care is taken whe they are laid to rest. For me the best option is to get hold of an upgraded relay and not worry about butchering wiring or the other issues I pointed out above.
I wanted to replace mine initially I just wasn't sure what I needed and where I poked it! so took the easy route......for now! lol
They are not too expensive £<15 and are housed behind the dash, nose cone needs to be removed or at least dropped in order to gain access but it's not a massive job.
As above easy enough job to fit the relay just need to drop the nose and pull the old relay out and fit the new 1. I'm sure I still have the box of the LED relay in the garage. If so I'll post it up so you can get the part number off it if ordering up. Again as above the heat generated by the resistors makes it a no go for me.
I fitted the LED relay did nothing so had to use the resistors after all.. But my wring isnt exactly standard..

does this plug inline with the after market indicator to correct the flash rate - without the need to cut wires?
