Any help on what to do and what not to do? Speaking to someone they said not to use a pressure washer and to WD40 it afterwards? Is that WD the whole bike or certain parts? How to dry the bike so that the nuts, bolts etc don't corrode?
Pressure washers are fine, just keep away from wheel hubs Wouldn't use WD40, use either GT85 or ACF 50
Mines in use all year round & in winter I use a hose, good scrub with muc off, rinse off then engine on to help dry out some of the bits. Chamois leather other bits. Good coat of ACF50, lube chain & leave overnight in warm garage. Once the acf50 is on a hose down during week will suffice if salt down. Still looks as good as new 5 yrs on
Have a search on here as their is plenty of threads that should give you a good idea on how best to maintain your bike
After washing l always have a quick spin around the block so that's it's not stored with wet discs and pads. The chains best lubed after a run when the chains warm.
liberal coating of muc off, then rinse with hose pipe, good all over wash with Mcguairs wax and wash using the two bucket method, run engine whilst using an airline to remove water trapped in nuts, bolts, nooks and crannys, if roads are dry a short blast up the road, then a good rub down with Mr Sheen
Can ACF50 be used on every part of the bike and is ok to leave it on for long periods without rinsing it off ???
Yep as Pete says. A can goes a long way too so it's well worth it. Be careful re spraying because it creeps, I do a lot of it sprayed onto a cloth then wiped on where I can reach. It'll protect against salt & general winter cr@p. I can't fault it.
